Everyone's cats are so cute! I want that pair of Bosnian cats! :)

Already I can't imagine ever giving up my nameless cat! She is such a joy to have around! Already I've been looking up how to make sure she is allowed to immigrate to other countries with me, hehehe. I can't wait to be at home with her whenever I leave the house! I think she's the best thing in my life right now, not sure if that's a bad thing, hehehe

what about rey? :crying:

http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=betterproducts It is regarding dog food, but I would think it would relate to cat food as well.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Wanda made me write in after seeing this thread....

lgmarge.jpg

I think she packed on some more poundage after her week and a half at the (no, I'm not kidding you) Kitty Bed & Breakfast. She had her own bedroom, bigger than mine, and certainly traveled better than I did... I don't think she would appreciate the unflattering rear view here!

The food thing: I think this is the vet industry's newest 'thing'. Wanda has almost always run a couple of pounds heavier than desired. She has been on 'a diet' of some kind or another for most of her 7 years. In December, the vet put her on Science Diet MD, a low-carb food. She gained. At her February visit, the substitute vet suggested that she might be 'carb intollerant'. <sigh> I can't help but feel a little manipulated.

But one of my clients is getting the same yak from her vet.. her cat has actually become diabetic, something I highly recommend avoiding.

So now we're all on the hunt for the perfect meat only food, as the vets are saying that cats should not tolerate any grains as they're not a part of the natural diet.

Wanda's always been on the dry food, and I *really* don't want to switch over to wet. She *does* tend to just swallow the dry kibbles tho (Lisa, I'm familiar with those up-yaks of solid kibbles!). The tack we're trying right now is eliminating all treats. We had been giving them (allegedly) for tartar control, but she just went in for a dental cleaning (hello, yes it was $500 all told, better care than I'm getting!) including an extraction because of tartar buildup. The treats are also significant calories.

Here's Wanda and Al (RIP), the best cat ever :luv:

LOLOLOLOL! Charles...too funny.

OMG they way she eats cracks me up...She'll use her paw to get one piece out of the bowl..and then uses her paw again to put it in her mouth.

She'll also eat normally but I have to adjust her bowl to make it easy for her ...bless her heart...

BTW her name is Cat :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Does anyone walk their cat? When the snow melts I'm thinking about it...

hope you've done some training indoors first. otherwise it will turn into taking the cat for a drag.

When I resided in Victoria, Canada, a fellow used to walk his 21 yr old Golden retriever, and his cat (off leash) would follow them along!!

I never take my cats outside, as most do not care for being on a leash, and then I have to get more shots for them!!

true - taking one outdoors means lots more shots and cost. and more risk for the cat.

As well back in Victoria, I would occasioanally allw the cats out in the back yard, supervised. They didnt run off, BUT once they got the idea they liked going outside, they then wanted outside all the time. So one had to be careful when opening the doors!!! Prior to letting them go outside, their interest was far less.

This is my tux Sydney who now lives with my Mum back home. He's a miserable ####### but I love him. And my new adopted 10 year old who lazes around everywhere. I HATE her name. How easy is it to change a cat's name after so long? Is it bad to do so? Answers on a postcard please. :)

What's her name? lol

Everyone's cats are sooo cute! I keep repeating myself, but there's so many cute ones :)

I made Mimi a 'fort' to keep her comfy during the horrible Florida winter, lol: And the last one is her chillin on the jacuzzi top...what a life!
