Called NVC to get case number. Each time i call i'm on hold for at least 30 minutes, even when i call them the minute they open. When customer service asked me for my receipt number i put her on hold for 5 minutes and played this song,

http://yourlisten.com/zeek/nvc-song

when i got back with the receipt number 5 minutes later i can tell from her voice she knew i was trolling. anyway she told me that NVC received my case on October 26 and that i needed to wait at least 35 days. that's kinda news to me cause when i first called, NVC told me they received my case on the 31st of October. The 31st of October falls on a weekend so i think October 26th seems like the more accurate date.

I don't think it is wise for you to do anything to annoy anyone in that office with any of your antics.

You are very early in your case and not saying it will happen, but some of your papers can easily be "not received" , or flat out lost.

Play their game, you have no power over them.

At this point i don't really care that much if they slow it down a year or two. Were both living together so our situation is not like many people who live apart. I will continue to do it because i need to send a point across to them, I'm self employed so i can waste their time as much as they can waste mine.

But you are happy to allow a forum that the OP is directly subjecting the NVC to a level of abuse

You are a genius.

Your delay causes someone else calling in to wait while the operator deals with your game.

The system is slow and clogged up, you needlessly adding to it to satisfy your silliness is wasting time for others.

It's okay for the OP to discuss how he is harassing and antagonizing the NVC and causing delays for the operator to get to other calls, but not to call him out on it?

Even though i disagree with what you guys are saying, I don't think your posts should have been deleted you are only expressing your opinions. I'm taken 45 minutes of my time daily to call nvc and i continue to take an extra 5 minutes to put the staff on hold. Today i was told by customer service that they agreed with me that waiting time should not be so long and the only thing i can do is to contact senator and congressman to complain about the waiting times. I will be contacting today i will be sending a letter to Kevin Mccarthy, Nancy Pelosi, Darrell Issa, Mike Honda, Adam Schiff, Loretta Sanchez, Dana Rohrabacher, Jackie Speier, Barbara Lee, Ed Royce, Linda Sanchez, Xavier Bercerra, Maxine Waters, Tom McClintock, Devin Nunes, Ami Bera, Judy Chu, Mimi Walters, Duncan D. Hunter, Anna Eshoo, Mark Takano, Eric Swalwell, Sam Farr, Mike Thompson, Jared Huffman, Lois Capps, John Garamendi, Susan Davis, Brad Sherman, Doris Matsui, Karen Bass, Raul Ruiz, Pete Aquilar, Zoe Lofgren, Juan Vargas, Scott Peters, Doug Lamalfa, Lucille Allard, Julia Brownley, Paul Cook, Mark DeSaulneir, Norma Torres, Jeff Denham, David Valadao, Ton Cardenas, Jerry McNemey, Alan Lowenthal, Grace Napolitano, anice Hahn, Ken Calvert, and Jim Costa. I hope you all follow suit and send letters to all your congressman and complain about the waiting times. Hopefully we could get the government to step in and make some changes.

This part I agree with!

Although I think you are wasting your time and effort, more and more people are applying, yet the budget is limited

With the latest newsworthy event and what is happening in Senate I cannot see anymore budget sliding USCIS way!

I think the whole process is going to get tougher!!

You will only be listened to if you write to your state's senators and congresspeople. If you send to a whole bunch of senators and you're not their constituent, guess where your mail/email will go? Trash.

hundreds of thousands of petitions land on the NVC every year. Some need extra processing like family visas, and some just need a number and routing like a fiancee visa. People call constantly to check up on things that aren't needed. I am not surprised at the wait times. Even when I was at the NVC if I called during peak hours, it was an hour wait. But sometimes on off times it was 5 mins. For my part, I only called to find out my case number and then my interview date. People's need for control in a system that doesn't allow them to have it, is what is causing the wait.

Considering the NVC is part of the Department of State, perhaps your senator(s) may have more luck than your congressmen. The budget put towards the call centers would have to be bigger though.

Remember there are about to be snow days! If it snows, they're not at work. ;)
