I'm a little confused about where my fiance is supposed to get police certificates in Mexico, and for which places.

He grew up in Santiago de Queretaro, QRO, but now resides in DF. Does he need police certificates from both cities and/or states? How would he go about obtaining these? He is about as lost as I am, and we're both concerned with how quickly they can be obtained.

Additionally, we're not sure if he needs police certificates from the US. Between 2011 and 2012, he was in the US on a toursist visa for 5 months and 15 days. According to the consulate PDF (here), police certificates are required for any country in which he resided for 6 months or longer (so I suspect, being so close to that cusp, we'd need police certificates from here as well). However, on the consulate's website (here), it says police certificates are required from the country of current residence and only any countries of residence for longer than a year, implying that he wouldn't need them from the US.

So...it's a bit of a conundrum, and neither of us are certain what to do. Any sort of feedback would be appreciated.

(And although it's a separate question, the latter webpage strongly recommends the fiance--implying the original petitioner, that is, me--attends the interview, but half the page below implies that the fiance won't even be allowed in the consulate, so all these contradictions are confusing me. Do I go to the interview with him, or do I not?)

I have the same question....On top of that confusion I was told we don't need police certificates and the website and Packet 3 say that you do need them. I was also told we only need them if there is a criminal history (this makes no sense at all-because a person with a criminal history s/he didn't want to bring up would just deny having any)

I found a site that describes how to get the Mexico Police certificates. It was on one of the few links that actually worked.

Here it is and let me know if you find out anything more or something different
