A K-1 is for unmarried people, so by definition they cannot ask for your marriage certificate because it doesn't exist.

They may be asking for marriage certificates and proof of termination of prior marriages, however.

If you are married then you cannot get a K1. Married people petition for a CR1 spouse visa.

we are not marriage just engagement only

That doesn't make any sense. Unless one or both of you have a previous marriage, then you don't need to have a marriage certificate. A fiance visa is for people who are engaged not married.

I came here on a k1 visa and they never ever asked us for a marriage certificate.

my fiancee just filled applicaion for k1 visa so they said please bring mariage certificate,is it normal help plz sorry for bad english

To clarify for you guys:

What they mean is that IF you were married before (but you are not, you said), you need to send PREVIOUS certificates. You only send it, if it is applicable. But NOT in your case.

You can simply ignore it.

Not to be mean about it, but it seems you may need a little bit assistance with filling out the paperwork. Ask someone whose english is much better to help fill out the forms. You really don't want to make any mistakes, because this will always delay the entire process.

it says mariage certificate

If it says marriage certificate then you will have an issue. If you are married in the eyes of your government, then you cannot file for a fiance visa, you would have to file for a spousal visa.

Without proof that you're actually married, you won't be able to file for the spousal visa.

Maybe the mods will move this to the regional forum and you can get more India-specific information, maybe that will help you have a better idea on what to do.

If engaged, and NOT married, file a K-1.

If ALREADY married and have the certificate as claimed above, your spouse must file a CR-1 petition, a 12-mo process.

Based on your posts, sounds as if you're already married but want to hide that from the US embassy with the K-1 filing to come to the US "early". If caught, would lead to visa denial.
