Can I keep my passport after interview? I need it for travel

Hi everyone,

I just got an appointment for the interview at the Paris embassy on November 25th. However I need my passport to travel (not to the US) the week after that, on December 3rd.

Do you know if it's possible to keep my passport after the interview, and give it back to the embassy after I return from my trip on December 7th?

I don't mind if it delays the issuance of the visa a little, I plan to leave for the US in January.

It's either that (the easiest), I postpone my appointment (don't know when the next one will be), or I cancel my trip (going to a family wedding in Morocco)

Reschedule the interview.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

reschedule the interview date either later or see if u can make it earlier

    6/10/2016 Form DS-261 Sent

    6/14/2016 AOS BILL INVOICED

    6/14/2016 AOS BILL PAID

    6/16/2016 IV BILL Assigned

    6/17/2016 IV BILL PAID

    6/17/2016 IV and AOS packet arrived at NVC

    6/17/2016 Scan Date

    6/20/2016 DS-260 SENT

    6/22/2016 Confirmation that they received the packet
