I wonder if a power of attorney would be recognized..? I know that in the US we use them but for purposes of a visa I am not so sure..?

Sooooo. I have emailed the documents to her and she is printing out and then sending DHL hopefully today.. I think this is the best route even though it adds a week. At the very least it gives me peace of mind which is worth something at this point in my life.

Went through this process about 30 years ago with my first wife and it was a pain then and it appears that some things stay the same after all..

As she lives on the other side of the world and transit times are so very slow I am wondering if I can just sign her name or do they do an in depth comparison of the signatures etc.??

You don't have to send off the forms and have your fiance mail them back! Just email the documents to them, have them print off, sign, and scan back to you! Scanned/photocopied documents are recognized as true and legal. For the G-325, fiance letter of intent, and anything else, I submitted my fiance's SCANNED signature (in black and white) and there were absolutely no issues.

Yes, and I was just there and misplaced the documents on the trip.. getting DHL this morning to send.. just hating the time it takes...sigh.. But saw that Utah people go through CA lockbox and the time is about half or less than the rest so I guess I am lucky there

California is the only service center taking I-129f petitions now. Vermont hasn't taken them since 2013 (they show up in the data here because people are confused or possibly because certain cases get flagged for much more thorough background processing--not sure about that though. Either way, it's not many people anyway). Texas stopped taking them in April. It's been all California ever since.
