How many of these terrorist operatives will be among the refugees our CIC is planning to import and how will DHS be able to determine those that might be an ISIS plant?

The holder of a Syrian passport found near the body of one of the gunmen who died in Friday night's attacks in Paris was registered as a refugee in several European countries last month, authorities said.

Greece identified the man as 25-year old Ahmad Almohammad, from the northwestern Syrian city of Idlib, and said he had entered Europe through the Greek island of Leros, where he was processed on Oct. 3.

France has not publicly confirmed that the passport holder is a suspect, but Greek Migration Minister Yannis Mouzalas said French authorities had told Greece they suspected that Almohammad, whose passport was found outside the Stade de France near the body of a gunman, was one of the attackers.

It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Guilty until proven innocent. Or something like that. As long as you get the words right. Who cares about the order.

They would not be denied rights, they would be just not be granted a privilege.

But I guess we can apply the logic - we should not be checking for bombs until after the plane crashes. Wouldn't want people to think we don't trust them or something.

In the post I was replying to, I believe the "treat them as terrorists" implied denying them rights. I may be wrong.

IMO we can treat them as human beings, while simultaneously taking reasonable precautions.

I would be happy treating them and vetting them exactly like our own spouses were treated. No better, no worse.

No reason to treat them as terrorists, right? I mean, what have they done wrong thus far?

All those poor women, children, and old men, being judged unfairly. How terrible.

If only you were a French citizen, or remembered 911 like it was yesterday, eh?

ISIS are banking on a knee jerk anti Muslim response, and until enough wise up to its game, expect the problem of terrorism to get a lot worse.

Sorry. They'll be jumping the line. More than likely with little scrutiny.

Nothing personal but I sort of resent that

Good ol' American values.

Denied until you prove eligibility and intentions happens every day in every American consulate on the planet.

This should be different why?

There are several difference between refugee and asylum status and immigrant visa's. One being most don't go through a consulate. The process is also non-adversarial.

I understand that you're saying it should be the same - or as difficult, but it currently isn't. Refugees are usually referred through the state dept and at that point, it's an entirely different process.

I was using the consulate process to example that this idea of vetting people who wish to settle here as "un-American" is untrue as applied to the vast majority of the people who do come here. Why treat some differently or preferentially from others?

Nothing adverse about our personal navigation through the rapids of immigration.

There is nothing adversarial either in saying that equal protection under the law principles should apply and that refugees should be clearly identified and vetted just like anyone else. There is no room for an "entirely different process" when we make a determination as to who should and should not be allowed to settle in our country.
