Have my appointment scheduled for 30 Nov, however due to my immunisation requirement I had the varicella given on 3 Nov and was told I'm not allowed to get the Mmr within 30 days but I was told to still go ahead for the interview and that it won't affect the process of the visa.

Anyone has an idea on this?

I'm getting really worried

You need to get the required immunizations before you're allowed to immigrate to the US. You can still go to the interview, I guess, but they won't issue your visa until you have passed your medical, which included getting that MMR as well.

My medical results are back. The clinic just told me to go and get the MMR shot on 30th afternoon and go to the interview in the morning. So I guess I'll have to go back and hand over my passport on a layer day?

Are you truly a K3 visa candidate? That is pretty rare. You did no processing at NVC, meaning no forms and documents sent to NVC?

Also need more info on shots. What is written on your immunization form DS-3025 for MMR? Any previous ones with dates? What date? Any letter code in the right column?

Hi Nick

I'm a CR1, I tried to change that in my profile but I couldn't.

Originally I had MMR, DTAP, Varicella and influenza. Due to they don't provide varicella in UK I got it in USA on 3 Nov and I was told I can't get the Mmr now on my medical on 6 Nov until 30 Nov. So I've got all the shots except MMr.

The clinic told me I can still go ahead with the interview and it won't affect the process and they've me schedule for 30th afternoon for the MMr shot

Do you have a DS-3025 vaccination form from the Knightsbridge clinic?

What does it say exactly on the line for MMR? Nothing? blank?

Also do you know that the Varicella shot could have been waived for you with the reason code "not routinely available"?

I called the clinic before and asked about varicella, they only told me I could get it in the USA since I was there or will be discussed. If they told me I wouldn't have got it.

I haven't get the DS-3025 form but I'll call the clinic again tomorrow to inquire about that. But if that's the form they were filling on my medical it was left blank and marked to be given on 30 Nov

Ok well I don't understand your situation as explained so can't help. No timeline. Wrong visa in your profile. Difficult to pull the info needed. You said above "Originally I had MMR, DTAP, Varicella and influenza." So it sounded like you had a MMR shot and were going for a second one. Now you indicate your medical results have not been sent to the embassy yet.

Good luck to you.

I'm guessing you're saying due to having the chicken pox vaccine they can't schedule the 2nd Mmr until the 30th. Only guess work but do they want you to attend the interview then go back later in the afternoon for the 2nd jab which will then be forwarded on to the embassy? Potentially an approval (if interview goes well) awaiting confirmaton of complete vaccines.

Posted

Correct. Due to I got the varicella shot on 3 Nov, the earliest I can take Mmr is 30 Nov. So the clinic told me to attend the interview as it is on 30 Nov in the morning and go to the clinic afterwards to get the MMR then.

First or second MMR? He never clarified.

From the Technical Instructions for Panel Physicians

Because completion of the vaccine series often requires several months, immigrant visa applicants are not required to have received all doses of the ACIP-recommended vaccines prior to departure. Rather, they are required to have received at least one dose of each vaccine, and they are encouraged to receive as many additional doses as possible. The panel physician should stress the need for the applicants to complete the series after arrival in the United States.

Source http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/panel/vaccination-panel-technical-instructions.html

You could get a CR1 visa with one MMR and never get additional doses.

There is a 28 day waiting period between doses of MMR. Immigration does not make you wait. The dose is waived. A pregnant woman can't get MMR. The dose is waived instead of holding up her visa until she delivers the baby.

Also in same technical instructions concerning the varicella shot in the UK.

Not routinely available

When the required vaccine is not licensed or not routinely available in the country where the medical examination is performed, the "Not routinely available" waiver box must be checked.

Yes I was going off pure guess work. Presuming they will either not mention it at the interview stage or he will have to have knightsbridge send the info across after he has been to the embassy. Either way if everything else is fine it should be a minor delay... SHOULD!
