I made a ds-160 a week ago and scheduled the interview... after reading the forums here... I *may* not have put my fiance's place of birth EXACTLY like the passport says... i'm here with her and she told me place of birth was Santiago Rodriguez and now I see on her passport it says SI DE SABANETA, RD... is this going to mess up my VAC appointment??? what will happen? Should I make another ds-160 right away? If I make another ds-160 do I have to reschedule? I already got the plane tickets setup so I want to be sure before I do anything... thanks in advance for any input

edit: If I have to do the ds-160 again, what happens to my payment? do I have to pay again?

The VAC reciept says

Place of Birth:

SANTIAGO RODRIGUEZ, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

While her passport says "Place of birth: SI DE SABANETA, RD"

I'm freaking out a little bit here, did I up???? any help is appreciated :x

We already did the medical exam too, did I fu*k up???? do we have to do it all over again???

SI De Sabaneta turns out is inside Santiago Rodriguez.. so it's kind of not the wrong place but it won't match the passport word for word... i'm freakin out right now

Correcting Answers on a Submitted DS-160
Collapse All
The U.S. Embassy or Consulate where I went for my visa interview denied my application because my DS-160 contained errors or was incomplete. What does this mean and what do I need to do next?
After I have corrected or completed my DS-160 application, do I need to schedule a new appointment or return to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate?

DS-160 applications submitted before April 1, 2010 cannot be reopened, and therefore, you must complete and submit a new DS-160.

The Embassy or Consulate should reopen your DS-160 submitted after April 1, 2010 if your application is denied for this reason and ask you to correct it, as explained below:

  • DS-160 applications submitted on or after November 1, 2010: Enter your application ID number and answer additional questions as prompted to access and correct your application.
  • DS-160 applications submitted on or after April 1, 2010, but before November 1, 2010: Enter your barcode or confirmation number into the Application ID field and answer additional questions as prompted to access and correct your application.

??????????????? what should I do?? it sounds like if there's an issue they will allow me to edit the ds-160? Knowing how Dominicans are they will not help me at all... (no offense to anyone) what should I do? Call first thing on monday?

In my experience, if it doesn't match exactly, you will be turned away from the VAC. I think you're going to have to figure out how to get the DS-160 reopened so you can correct the info.
