2 Year or 10 Year Green Card?

My wife received her green card today. She arrived the end of March last year on a K-1 and we were married beginning of June. We applied for AOS at the end of June. Our AOS interview was last month and she recieved the stamp in her passport and the officer said we would recieve the green card in a few weeks. He never mentioned the need to apply for a new card 90 days prior to the expiration of this card as others have mentioned. I assumed she would get a 2 year conditional green card and then have to file for a ten year card later. When I looked at the card she received today the expiration says 02-23-17. Looks to me like she got a 10 year card already. Is this correct or am I missing something? Is this the norm?

Yeah, they shouldn't have given your wife the 10 year card. Still a nice mistake, assuming that USCIS aren't expecting you to file I-751 in 2 years. Might be worth checking up on.

wow, it was probably a nice present for you to make up for the rudeness you encountered during infopass (if im not mistaking it was you?)

i wish that happens to me. (the 10 year green card, not the rudeness lol)

Yes, that was us with a horrible infopass appointment in Tampa, but we had a great interview in Miami without any problems. Looks like the mistake went in our favor this time! I will say the interviewer was great and seemed very interested in us and we had a great conversation with him during the interview. Did he do us a favor?? LOL

yes, but they will now have the added worry that USCIS has listed they need to Remove Conditions in 2 years even though the card states an expiration date of 10 years.

I would question it at another (gulp) infopass appointment, hopefully they won't be nasty and treat you like you know more about the immigration process than they do.

I understand what you are saying, but..... How am I supposed to know that they were stupid and made a mistake if infact they did. Until I hear otherwise from USCIS my view is, we have a 10 year green card. It says so right on the card. At least that's my thought as of right now.....

Sounds good to me. They must have a system for entering the information to be printed on the cards and it seems that they entered yours as a ten year card. They probably don't even expect you to lift conditions.
