I think there are similarities. You have to be a good judge of talent and pick competent people to delegate duties etc. You have to be a good manager. I think there's a lot of similarities, although it's not exactly the same. Running a business you can be fired for non-performance fairly quickly. A president has the job for 4 years, and it's really more of a popularity contest based on speeches and looks than it is based on results.

Have you no idea what the executive branch of government entails? I know what all that means. Unfortunately, the vast majority of American voters do not. They vote for people based on looks and sounds bites. Even race. I live in the real world, not fantasy land where voters are informed and vote based on issues.

Where in the world did you get white southerners were responsible for slavery? Who has ever said that? Slavery has been around longer than white southerners have existed! White southerners however, voted and chose to succeed from the union, because they wanted to maintain their main source of economic growth, cotton and tobacco, and needed the slave trade (which was slowing down due to large parts of Europe ending slavery),to continue in order to make profits. Those that didn't even own slaves, let a lone land! Decided to stand with their respective states because they saw themselves more as Virginians and Georgians than Americans! I suspect if it's compared to the last 20-30 years its pretty consistent. They probably realize the job sucks and they can make 20 times their govt. salary being a lobbyist. It's definitely a jumping point to an ultra high salary.

i don't know what part of the country you live in, but it sounds like you live in a perpetual high school. Where I live, the majority are informed and vote based on issues, but I guess, you are entitled to deem your word "real" and mine "fantasy".

I live in a small (and growing smaller) place called reality. Where people are responsible for their actions and can't blame everything that doesn't go their way on the govt. or race. It's a lonely place here in reality.

As far as your allegedly "informed" voters, 96% of the black voters chose Obama in 2008. That tells me that people were voting based on race rather than issues. And I'd like to know what you consider informed? What is the metric? I suspect you're just pulling things out of your %%%, which isn't surprising around here. You probably think they're "informed" because they agree with your position. Pretty cool how that works.
