I think Trump is a sideshow. That said he has a about a million times more experience than Obama had when he ran for president. He runs corporations. Has thousands of people working for him. Obama was a professional student and then a community organizer, whatever that is.

Not sure what his wife has to do with it. And I'm sure if she was illegal, CNN would be running that story 24/7 with no commercials.

Is running a business somehow relevant to running a country. What do you think the similarities are?

No running a business isn't exactly the same, but it's definitely more than running a campaign. All Obama did was run a campaign. He ran for Senate, and less than two years after being sworn in, he started running for president. He's professional candidate and a terrible politician.

Many great presidents have had less experience than that. Reagan was a hollywood actor.

If Trump would drop the act and be serious on issues instead of trying to insult everyone around him to get ratings, he'd have a better shot.

I think there are similarities. You have to be a good judge of talent and pick competent people to delegate duties etc. You have to be a good manager. I think there's a lot of similarities, although it's not exactly the same. Running a business you can be fired for non-performance fairly quickly. A president has the job for 4 years, and it's really more of a popularity contest based on speeches and looks than it is based on results.

Reagan was governor of the largest state in the union prior to being elected president. I think California would be ranked as the 10th largest economy in the world if it were it's own country. So I'd say he did quite a bit between his acting days and being elected president.

Good point. Also, President Obama was the Illinois Senator from 1997 to 2004. So it's a bit more than two years.

Is that even a full time gig? I know the Senate in Texas is only in session for a small period of time every two years.

The Legislature of the State of Texas, operating under the biennial system, convenes its regular sessions at noon on the second Tuesday in January of odd-numbered years. The maximum duration of a regular session is 140 days.

Thanks to W, America lost allies, prestige and respect from many nations. Of course, Obama is being blamed, as one would the firemen for the water damage they caused.

You do realise that "France lighting them up today" is what the US has been doing everyday. France decided to actually amp up their actions to the US equivalent. The world definitely loves us more than it did when bush was president.

That I don't know.

It's Bush's fault , maybe Reagan.

I fell much better. If ISIS is not Islamic, because most Muslims are good.

Then white southerners were not responsible for slavery. I mean the vast majority did not own slaves.

Where in the world did you get white southerners were responsible for slavery? Who has ever said that? Slavery has been around longer than white southerners have existed! White southerners however, voted and chose to succeed from the union, because they wanted to maintain their main source of economic growth, cotton and tobacco, and needed the slave trade (which was slowing down due to large parts of Europe ending slavery),to continue in order to make profits. Those that didn't even own slaves, let a lone land! Decided to stand with their respective states because they saw themselves more as Virginians and Georgians than Americans! Once again, please do your reading on American history before you start making false statements to try and prove some sort of point you think you're making.

It's a popularity contest based on speeches and looks? Did you not take high school government and American history? Any political or government mandatory undergrad courses in college? Have you no idea what the executive branch of government entails? I don't even know why I'm asking these questions when you have already stated your answer: "A president has the job for 4 years, and it's really more of a popularity contest based on speeches and looks than it is based on results."

Which happens to be a fairly accurate summation. The president has a tough job, to be sure; he or she has to pretend like they are in charge, when in fact, they are mostly a puppet. It just so happens that the current puppet shows more favoritism towards a religion that is bent on destroying the free world and illegal aliens than on making America a better place to live.

Says all these people who are not the president.

You also contradict yourself in your own statement. If the president is the "puppet" then who is the puppet master? Because then we should be all blaming the puppet master and not the puppet.

I didn't contradict myself. If you don't know who the puppet master is, then you do not understand how the entire "voting" system in the US works.

The "voting" system in the US has been hijacked by "big money" in the US. But that's not just this presidents problem. However, the "voting" system would be better served if people were better educated about their candidates, policies and issues, starting at the local level and moving nationally. Also if people would take the time to read and learn about what and who they are voting for and what and who funds them. That of course would mean actually reading and not just watching fox, msnbc,CNN or whatever useless mainstream media people are brainwashed by. I understand very well how our electoral college system works, and how our "voting" works as well.
