Well, can you actually argue that gun ownership in America has produced better numbers than France? If you want to put yesterday's massacre as being the worst, that's a fact. But we do that number in about a week and a half here in America since thousands of people are shot every month. Not hundreds, thousands.

So, do you think we should just deport all Muslim Americans out of the country? You badger Janelle about not giving a straight answer, how about you answer this one. What do you propose we do?

In all honesty I don't know.

They do consider themselves, therefore it must be true, right? Following your rationale, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is precisely that: democratic and the people's; furthermore, we are to convince ourselves that the People's Republic of China, is really a people's government. After all, that's what they call themselves...

I hear people state, all the time that 'god is great'. Not everyone who does so is acting in the name of god. A terrorist shouting 'god is great' no more represents god's will, as does the preacher who professes 'god is great' who abuses children sexually.

Why not judge people by their actions, rather than their words. These people are terrorists. The god of Abraham couldn't possibly have told them to massacre innocent people in Paris or Beirut.

Not only do they consider themselves Muslim some Muslims consider them to be Muslim. A Muslim coworker says he knows they are his Muslim brothers but he wouldn't mind if they are killed by bombings as they make it bad for other Muslims.

Unless you want to call them Buddhists terrorist.

Any christian will tell you that all humans are brothers and sisters, and that god is great. You better check your theology....

http://time.com/4112830/muslims-paris-terror-attacks-islam-condemn/

Before the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria had even claimed responsibility for the shootings and explosions that killed more than 120 in Paris on Friday night, Muslims around the world took to social media to condemn the perpetrators and defend Islam as a faith of nonviolence.

The bloodshed was linked to Islamic extremists early on, following reports that the perpetrators had referred to French policy towards Muslims and screamed “Allahu Akbar” during the attacks. President François Hollande officially named ISIS as the group behind what he called an “act of war” just before noon local time.

Several Muslim religious and political leaders officially denounced the attacks before the group took responsibility, including Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, who called them a “crime against humanity,” and Qatari foreign minister Khaled al-Attiyah, who said they were “heinous.” Rouhani had been scheduled to visit France as part of a wider European trip this weekend but has postponed his plans.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo, leader of the world’s most populous Muslim nation, said that”Indonesia condemns the violence that took place in Paris.”

More spirited responses came from ordinary people. On Twitter, many referred to the hashtag #TerrorismHasNoReligion, seeking divorce Islam from the dogma espoused by extremists.

I think you should save your predictions for the stock market thread.

It's all part of the big picture. But it takes being able to see the big picture - to see that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Lets talk in 5, 10, 15 and 20 years.

Talk about a "glass half empty" statement.

It's called realism.

If in 20 years no ww3, you can buy me a beer. I already won a $1 bet with a guy I work with that we wouldn't be under martial law by summer 2015. Just make sure you stay alive so you can make good on the bet.

I don't question your stock market predictions, but "war of civilizations" is nothing more than hyperbole. Anyone who buy's that, I got some WMD's in Iraq to sell ya.

We've been there before and well circle back again. At some point, you'll be right. Doesn't make you a prognosticator.

It's not appropriate to misrepresent other peoples' positions just because you didn't take the time to read properly. It's no different than when someone comes and messes around with you in your "postcount" threads because they don't understand the point of posting the same word over and over and over.

Now - no one actually said they were from other backgrounds.

Actually some here have de muslimed them.

That ISIS claims to be Muslim is not what's disputed. They should not be allowed to speak or represent others of the faith. They should be silenced.

I see a lot of people butting heads, but I don't see anyone who disagree's with that.

You people do realise that the vast majority of people being killed by terrorists are Muslim themselves. Therefore you can not take an entire group of people and associate them as terrorists by the small action of a few. I don't look at the KKK and think my goodness those Christians! Or the Buddhists in Myanmar killing Muslims and fear every Buddhist monk I see, or radical Israeli settlers who burned an 18 month old alive and run through the streets fearing Jews, when Timothy mcviegh a member of an anti government militia blew up men women and children, I didn't run away from every white blond hair blued man I saw on the street! There were Christians in this country blowing up abortion clinics and killing doctors who performed abortions. The day before Paris, 45 people were blown up by a terrorist group in another city called the Paris of the Middle East, Beirut Lebanon. Children blown to pieces! Muslim, Christian, by the same terrorist group. Do you know what they all have in common? They were attacked by the same group. One group of people, in the west, one group of people in the east! Same group killed them both. isnt our problem that we put a greater emphasis on the lives of those we consider like us? And those that are deemed others we couldn't shed a tear? This isn't about religion. It's about political hijacking of religion in order to create division. Spewing hate and decrying an entire group of people because of the radical element that exists, perpetuates the problem and does exactly what terrorist want, division, hate, distrust. It's easier for them to recruit a 15 year old when his neighbors fear him and hate him simply because of his religion. Marginalising people is not a solution. It hasn't worked the last 14 years, clearly... It's only yielded a generation that is easily manipulated by psychopaths trying to push forward their political, insane viewpoint. I cry for Paris, Beirut, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kenya, Mumbai, Spain, London, NYC, the list goes on and on. I hope we can come together for peace and love and be welcoming to the disinfranchised, because darkness does not drive out darkness, only light can do that!
