AOS during removal proceedings

If my I 360 petition is approved I will have to Adjust status during my removal hearing.

Has anyone had any experience of having to do this ? I know there won't be many, if any of you, but I've been researching and I can't seem to find anything on this.

I-360 is the petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant. Basically, it is for benefits given to (in this case it sadly seems) battered spouses. It's for other things, too but she mentioned her former husband was abusive.

Hi

I personally know someone who adjusted status during removal process and he went through it fine. As long as you have strong reasons you will get through it. Well, this particular person over stayed his visit visa and then married a US citizen and adjusted status.

If you were placed in removal proceedings, and then secured approval on the I-360, you would still be able to apply to adjust status before the Immigration Judge.

If you were placed in removal proceedings, and then secured approval on the I-360, you would still be able to apply to adjust status before the Immigration Judge.

I'm sorry, perhaps I've confused people. I know that I can adjust in front of an IJ, but I was wondering what happens.

Do I have to take all the completed paperwork for AOS and present it to the judge who then makes a decision there and then or does he or she decide that I am able to file for AOS and tell me then to send it on to the appropriate agency/ office to be adjudicated?
