My children had an immigration visa interview at the U.S. embassy in Egypt, by the way I am a green card holder and Iam the petitioner , the interview went well and all my doughter's documents were completed, but my son needed a new police report. So the counselor refused to grant my doughter the visa because of her brother, even though the have to separate case number. So after three weeks my son sent the police report. And after a month from receiving the police report, the embassy sent their passports with no visa slog with a letter saying that their petition was sent back to uscis for adjudication. The petition is at the uscis now.Dose anyone have an idea of how long will it take for uscis to make a desition ? Thank you

There must be a lot more to this than has ben mentioned but to answer your question 6 months to a year seems normal.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I don't know why this happened, specially my doughter, all her documents were completed, but my doughter has a 9 year old son , she put his name the DS 260 application as living with her , and that was on May 2013 ( eight months before the interview. But when his dad ( ex husband) found out that she wants to take him with her he took him from her and he did not want to issue a passport for him . On August 2013 ( 5 month before the interview) we send a letter to NVC stating that she will not be able to take her son with her . So during the interview the councelor said to her 'why did you say that your son lives with you in the application, and now you said that he lives with his dad' and she gave my doughter a weird look . So my doughter told her the story and the concelor said "ok" . Do you think the could be why the petition was sent back ?

I doubt it, and anyway that would not apply to both of them.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thank you for replying, I don't know why they sent both cases back, and I asked a congress man for help and the embassy replied to him saying that the case was returnend back for revocation. But whenever I call uscis they say that the case was send back to us for additional review. This is very frustrating, it is hell it is immigration through family, why are they doing that to us ? Do you have any idea how long this will take ? . Thank you
