Two Alien registration numbers

Hi everyone,

My wife applied for DACA a while back and received an alien registration number. Then, when we applied for I-130 after marriage, the attorney left out that number, so she got a new A# on the I-130.

Is that a problem?

Also, the new number is only 8 digits whereas the DACA number was 9 digits starting with a 2. Is that common for new numbers to be 8 digits long today?

This happens when whoever accepted your application did not do a computer check to see if your wife already has an A#. I should not be a problem but a few eyebrows might be raised at the POE if a CBPO discovers this. Just explain thoroughly the situation.
