hello to all,

I received an online case status that the petition my fiancée in US was already approved this nov 9. My question is:

1. Besides him mailing the original package that was sent to homeland security which includes with I-129, pictures, and etc. Do I need to mail him any documents coming from my country as the beneficiary of his petition for him to mail to NVC together with the others?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Are you the petitioner (USC) or the beneficiary?

In any case, you do not send anything to NVC. NVC will only assign a case number and forward your case to the foreign consulate for further processing.

The petitioner needs to compile the documents for affidavit of support and send to the beneficiary at this stage. In a few weeks you can start calling NVC to request your case number.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Hi A'n'l,

I am the beneficiary from the philippines.

If I understand you right, my fiancee (USC) who is the petitioner will prepare the documents (Form I-129, documentary proof, affidavit of support, and etc) to be sent to me and NOT to NVC?

For now, he haven't receive the NOA2 via snail mail but only knew his petition was approved via USCIS Case Tracker. So will he still need to wait for NOA2 and letter from NVC before he send the documents to me?

Thank u so much for the help.

Hi,

Correct, you (the beneficiary) will need to bring all the documents to your interview. NVC have no interest in these.

In theory, you do not need to wait for anything to start collecting the documents. There are a lot of other VJ'ers from the Philipines (check out the regional forum) that will be able to guide you on the process at your consulate, what documents you need to collect and in what order.

Good luck :-)

Hi again, I just got an email from the lawyer who filed for the petition and now it was already approved (which is the only scope of her service) but still waiting for the physical letter of NOA2. She was telling me to mail to my fiancee USC my NBI clearance so my fiancee can send it to NVC. I am so confuse because she refuse to answer the procedures I am asking her cos her work was already done and with the info i am getting here is totally different from what she was telling me... Need help please.

Thank u so much

Is this an immigration attorney? Sounds like bullshit to me. Check out the K-1 visa guides on this site for up to date procedures.
