Trump Floats Theory About Hillary's Hair: 'Is That A Wig?'

Members of the conservative media got all lathered up Thursday morning after infamous hair-haver Donald Trump floated the idea that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s new hairstyle is evidence that she wears a wig.

Trump said during an appearance on conservative Mark Levin’s radio show on Wednesday it was “shocking to see” Clinton change her hairstyle.

After Levin asked Trump why the Democrats think Clinton appeals to voters, the Republican presidential contender responded: “Well, she has a new hairdo. Did you notice that today?”

Levin responded: “That’s called a wig.”

“Is that a wig?” Trump asked.

“I think it’s a wig, nothing personal. Look, I’m not against wigs, people can wear whatever they want,” said Levin, who is bald.

Trump, who’s nearly as famous for helmet-style hair – which he insists is natural – as he is for his real estate empire, ran with Levin’s wig theory.

“It’s OK. I’ll tell you what. It really was shocking to see it. Because, you’re right, it was massive. Her hair became massive,” he said.

After Levin warned the Republican with a laugh that he was “going to get in trouble” for the remarks, Trump said he didn’t care, because he’s someone who “tells the truth.”

He continued: “It was interesting to see, but I’ve never seen Hillary with that hairdo. I think that’s an OK thing to say. But it was very different, did you like it?”

Levin jokingly responded, “Don’t get me in trouble, now.”

Matt Drudge, founder of the blaring conservative aggregation site Drudge Report, seized on the hit for the site's huge morning headline: “TRUMP: IS THAT A WIG?”

He also tweeted photos ( of Clinton’s hair with semi-coherent captions like “The Whig Party…” Drudge is notorious for deleting tweets, so here are a few screenshots:

The chatter prompted celebrity gossip magazine People to call up Clinton’s hairdresser to fact-check Trump’s claims. Santa Nikkels, owner of the Chappaqua, N.Y. salon where Clinton is a client, called the wig theory “ridiculous” and said Clinton “has the most amazing hair in the world.”

The remarks were par for the course from Trump, who has a long history of making unwelcome observations about women's looks.

He has often praised his daughter Ivanka's appearance, joking on more than one occasion that he would date her if she wasn't his daughter.

Trump also found himself in hot water in September for mocking fellow Republican presidentialcandidate Carly Fiorina's face, which became a flashpoint for critics of Trump's record with women.

It's expedient to the Trump campaign to concentrate on diversion, lest he be asked about real policy. Trump is an embarrassment to this country, and that he is leading the polls only adds to the negative image of America that fits the narrative of our enemies.

His rhetoric is worrisome because if he gets elected, the nutjobs will demand he do good on these promises, and before long they will start rounding up the cattle cars, to run his deportation scheme; moreover, I wonder if he knows he can't build a wall around our airports to stop the influx of immigrants, in a country that was founded, colonized and made a superpower by immigrants, while he himself married an illegal immigrant...
