Just got a letter saying that my wifes interview is gonna be next month. So I guess we wont be going to CSC after all. But it seems to me that even transfers to CSC arent a surefire guarantee to getting your greencard quicker. Dreaded FBI name checks can shatter those dreams.

Im thinking if i should notify them that im deploying to expedite the name check. I just read that they can expedite FBI name checks. Even though it doesnt seem too logical. Wouldnt FBI name checks be the one most important thing that the gov really shouldnt rush?

One would think so.

When is your deployment in relation to your interview? Soon?

Deployment is one of the valid reasons for an expedite, but I'm not sure if it pertains so much if the non-USC spouse remains stateside. It might be a good rabbit to pull out of the hat at your interview should namecheck arise - if you have the time to spare.

So they will let me know if the FBI name check is pending at the interview?

Yes.

The people you read about on VJ who are unsure if they are in check or not are CSC transferees who don't get interviewed.

Today is DAY 38 for me

and still waiting

My AOS approved at 10.30pm !!!!

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Wow! Congratulations Daisy. I am glad that you're finally approved! Today, I just finished my vaccination supplement was transferred by civil surgeon with a sealed envelope. Hey, may I ask? Have you filled out the I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status? Because I printed out this form with 4 pages ( 1 for applicant, 1 for physician or health department, 1 for civil surgeon and 1 for USCIS A-FILE). I am confused of this? By the way, can you give me the forms for me to be filled out, please?

I pray that I wouldn't receive any RFE's when I pass all the applications.

Thankyou J*C*H2007 , I was approved in 38 days, that was AMAZING

I entered US based on K-1 visa, so I don't have to submit I-693. ( follow this link for the form http://www.uscis.gov/i-693 )

I hope you would not receieved RFE and get a quick approval, I'll pray for you . Good Luck

6 months, 22 days and counting. Confirmed we are in FBI name check by CSC themselves (twice) and by the FBI in their response to our senator. Apparently our FBI Name Check request was submitted September 8th, 2006.

Oh the fun

i must be soooo up poop's creek since I am an atheist! :crying:

At least now you've identified the reason for the delay and can take appropriate actions to remedy. :P

i'll pass. i believe the system to be beaurocratic vs. divine intervention. although some of those greencard-in-hand-in-30-days is nothing short of miraculous... on second thought... which way to the temple/church/mosque???? :star:
