Hello all VJs,

Prayers for all who are waiting for their visa and congrats to all those reunited.

I have a couple of Questions.

1.can a green card holder be a joint sponsor for I-864? Because most of the time a green card holder is also relying upon i-864 filled by his/her petitioner.

2.is there any requirement for blood relation while filling I-864?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello all VJs,

Prayers for all who are waiting for their visa and congrats to all those reunited.

I have a couple of Questions.

1.can a green card holder be a joint sponsor for I-864? Yes, a LPR over age 18 can be a Joint Sponsor. Because most of the time a green card holder is also relying upon i-864 filled by his/her petitioner.

2.is there any requirement for blood relation while filling I-864? There is no blood relationship requirement. A Joint Sponsor does not have to be related to anyone. It can be a friend.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.
