@mallafri76

Yes I was surprised as well. When I called about my case complete, the lady at NVC said they put propriety to people who case has been there the longest and try to schedule them first. Not sure if this is true, but in my case it was :)

--

My case has been at NVC since Dec. of 2014, so long time :(.

I had sent my packets many months back and had gotten no reply or anything and it was August. I called NVC, and the lady without asking me, sent my case for review. Later I found out, my DS-260 form was sent for review and that would take 42ish some days. When I would call, they said it wasn't done; some would say it takes 42 normal days while others were saying it would take 42 business days.

Even when 50+ business days had passed by and I got no response, I got annoyed. The reason I got mad because no one was giving a clear answer; every time I would call no one had a real clear answer or would make be such such excuse.

**Lucky, one time I called around 7:30pm and I got a very nice and helpful lady to help me. She understood my position and frustration, she said she would send my case to her supervisor and explain my case.

About 10 days later, my case was done and few days after I got my interview letter :) I forget her name because I use to call everyday to annoy the NVC and spoke to so many ppl, I can't remember her name :(.

I think because of her, my case got done quicker and got my interview letter :). I wish I could call her and thank her, but whoever she is, she's awesome and I thank her :)

Yes I have heard the same thing, they won't let you inside during the interview, but can wait outside.

I can go inside because I'm an American Passport Holder, plus I'm a naturalized American Citizen so I enter the American Embassy because the land where the American Embassy is; that landed is treated same as the US and all American Citizens can enter.

That's what I heard or read online. You can go inside if your an American Passport holder. Someone else can confirm this, that would be better.

Before I started the visa process and sent my I-130 packet, my wife and I went to Embassy for a normal appointment to see if we can file directly through the embassy or consulate. I scheduled the appointment online and we went in. They let in us and my wife had an Indian passport and I had an American passport.

I'm not sure if every embassy is the same, but they let in us and this was the American embassy in New Delhi, India.
