What would be the best time to start collecting documents for Affidavit of Support? We just got our NOA2 so the petition would spend about a month at the NVC and then another couple months till the interview.

I don't think they would want a couple months old documents. How old is too old?

Also how long does it take to collect all the documents? I know it can vary but based on your experience, how long did it take you to collect all needed documents?

Probably 6 months. I obtained my letter from the employer in July, our first interview was scheduled for September, I sent all my documents, 134 plus tax transcripts, pay summaries and the letter in early September. We had to delay the interview and it was scheduled in November. I merely sent newer pay summaries before that and did not do anything to the 134 or employer letter. All was accepted OK.

Also how long does it take to collect all the documents? I know it can vary but based on your experience, how long did it take you to collect all needed documents?

Personally, I prefer the idea of researching and KNOWING what you'll need and then collecting it and sending it a month before interview.

Of course, figuring out what documents, etc. is fine and necessary for the I-134. But, with respect to your specific time in your visa journey, there is no time like the present to start collecting your information. Thanks. I think we will start to make a checklist and then start collecting documents according to that.

They probably aren't going to trip out over it unless they're 6-12 months old.
