Dear Community,

I would appreciate your feedback on the following:

I would most likely want to slow down the NVC process a little bit (as far as I know, contacting them once a year keeps the case not abandoned). However, many things could go wrong, and I would prefer to send off the AOS/IV package first to see if I get any checklist on it and only after it got approved would I send the the online Ds-260 - right before I need the case to be completed.

In the past, with paper based DS-230, the Ds-230 and AOS/IV process were two different routes and you could do this. However the most recent NVC flowchart on the wiki (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process) mentions the DS-260 before the AOS/IV. Although I don't see any direct comment on that preparing/sending off the AOS/IV package is only possible after submitting the DS-260. Does submitting the DS-260 generates any document that is needed to be attached to the AOS/IV package?

So to sum up, can you send the AOS/IV package before completing the DS-260? Is there any processing time for the DS-260? Or is it processed alongside the AOS/IV package and thus all of them needs to arrive at the NVC for the case to be moved forward?

Thank you so much!

Another way to ask this:

If I send the AOS alone (that has higher chance of having errors, so I want to know in time if I get a checklist), will NVC process it and just wait until I send the IV later? Or they need both there to start working on them?

I think that the whole information is there in the welcome letter which the nvc sent to you via post mail if you really got it the instructions says fill in the choice of address which is Form DS261 after that you waited for 15 days you pay your bill AOS bill and IV bill which will enable you to fill form DS260 after payment then you have to arrange all your supporting documents and financial documents in one package and send it to nvc in Portsmouth thanks you

~~Moved to NVC discussion from CR1/IR1 process and procedures~~

Currently the NVC wants both the IV package and the AOS package at the same time which you can send after paying the AOS invoice. The DS-260 will become available to fill out when the DS-261 is added to the file.

Thank you!

Could I send the AOS/IV package together without paying the DS-260 IV fee but paying the AOS fee? And then they review only the AOS part of it until I proceed with submitting the DS-261, DS-260 and pay the IV fee?

I am just worried about AOS I-864 errors and want them check it on time. I am more confident about not making mistakes for the IV part so that van wait.

What do you think?

Yes send everything after the AOS fee is paid. They will not review the AOS documents until they have the IV docs so sending it on it's own is pointless.

Both fees has to be paid before nvc can be able to start reviewing your documents without paying the both fees nothing will be done on any of your documents so sending it without completing the IV payment and aos payment has no impact on your case to be review thank you

Thanks so much all of you! So to sum up:

I can pay all fees, fill out DS-261, send the AOS/IV packagea - at this step will they review the AOS part of the package, and generate checklist for AOS alone if needed? Or they won't do anything until I complete the DS-260 as well?

You are welcome but remember once all the payment is made nvc can start reviewing your documents when sent once your documents received by nvc they will notify you and your documents will be reviewing for a period of 30 days from the day your documents was received if they are things you didn't put right they will inform you to do so thanks
