Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name, last name) has been employed

full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an

annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company

letterhead.

Yeah, I know. Actually IIRC the thing about "future employment" is only necessary if you're using the Green Card applicant's wages to meet the poverty limit.

If the US Citizen were un-employed they would be looking for a co sponsor and the co-sponsor may want to get a letter from their employer. The only other option would be if the US Citizen sponsor had assets in excess of 125% poverty line guide X 3 then they may be able to rely compleatly on assets. Also in the case of AOS, the US Citizen can also use the immigrant as a co-sponsor (I-864A)

A sponsored immigrant can't be a co-sponsor, but their income can be included as household member. The difference being a household member has to live with the sponsor. Luckily most couples live together!

Unfortunately, that is what we did and I did get a RFE. So I must look for a joint sponsor now. So you cant only use the assets.

HI!

This is perfect timing for this topic! I'm using my income toward household guidelines and need help with this too!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to word "future employment" portion of the letter? I'm meeting with my supervisor tomorrow and he has no problem with the letter, he just wants to word it so its acceptable for the USCIS.

Any experience would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Capt.Canuck

My employers used the words: "and conditional on his green card being approved, will continue to be employed as a valuable member of our team for the forseeable future". The secretary came up with that and USCIS seemed to be happy with it.

PERFECT!

What would we do without you!

I sure hope my experiences will help me to contribute to VJ after "the process" is done!

Thanks again dr lha!

p.s. I guarantee I'll pick your brain a couple more times before we file on the 15th... If we cant find the answers ourselves!
