Hi, I was pregnant and thought my husband would have been here by the time our son was born. The baby is now 6 months old and we are still waiting for him to arrive now just waiting for an interview. I would like to tell you I think he would be here but their process is really slow and especially when we are so anxious. Its tough but hang in there I did it and im still waiting. I wish you luck. But get started on that paperwork ASAP. Also we submitted as a CR1 we got married prior to sending the paperwork.

Any updates to your case since it is now January.

In November VJ had me discouraged as I am currently pregnant and due May 1. I was told there was no way my fiancé would be granted any type of visa in time for the birth of our child. I consulted with one of those Fiancé visa services thinking there was no way that I would be able to focus to do it while pregnant and overwhelmed and they did a good job once I gathered everything. Not too much delays on their end. I now know I could have done it myself. I am in Texas and my fiancé is in Dominican Republic. I am a teacher and with expecting a baby I haven't wanted to spend too much money going back and forth so that I can afford the K1 process and our child. I visited in August and then I was able to visit last month and plan to go again in March. The timelines seem to have sped up some. Does anyone think there is any hope for a K1 visa to be obtained prior to the beginning of April or May? I am so afraid that he will be given interview dates that are when I am unable to travel or after the birth of our child which would also make me unable to immediately travel.

Just from what I am hearing is as long as the paperwork is done perfectly with no RFE latest you would wait is 9 months, being pregnant will. Or make the process faster cause if that was the case everyone would try to get pregnant

Process of approval varies, mine went through CSC and was approved in 6 weeks. You will never know unless you filed.

Upon approval, you can get you case number from 3- 5 weeks and from then the process now lies on the Local embassy of your fiancee.

File now and hope for the best.

K1 was filed. It was sent 12/17 and I received the NOA1 12/24 and it was sent to the CSC as well. I am definitely hoping for the best. Had no idea this process was so tedious until I found this website. I was so naive to international love. Lol

Lolzz. Papers for the I-129 F are really a lot. I over-loaded mine so it was like over 100 pages. I asked my USC fiance to print most of it.

Now while waiting for NOA 2 your Faince should start gathering requirements for the K1 Visa. Don't wait for NOA 2 to start. Check the local embassy requirements.

No... Still waiting three months plus to get an interview date. 16 months for the whole process and nothing.

I called and was transferred over to a very rude supervisor. Was told it could take years so for our son to get used to seeing his father through the phone. Was told there is no end date since there is a visa available for him. But there was no clue when it would be scheduled. I called the lawyer who is helping with the process, she called about 2 weeks ago and told them to have a supervisor check it because that should have been scheduled already and today she is supposed to be calling to see what's going on. Our plans for now are If we don't hear anything this month im going in February, since its been 8 long months since we saw each other.

Maybe

Very likely, I'd plan for this. It is what it will be.

Original thread has been moved from the What Visa Do I Need forum to the K-1 Case Progress subforum and is now merged with the follow-on thread, which has been moved from the K-1 Process forum to the K-1 Case Progress subforum. A few "clutter" posts have been removed.

Please continue the entire discussion in this one thread.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
