where/what is MRV visa receipt number?

Hello!

I have searched the forums like mad, trying to locate a thread on this topic, but to no avail.

Yesterday I made the visa payment of $265 + fees to the Frankfurt, Germany consulate via Stanley Associates.

I now want to enter the receipt number, but am not sure what this number is, exactly, or where to find it.

I am afraid of doing anything wrong, as I do not want to cause any delay or jeopardize the process.

Can anyone assist me?

My credit union emailed me that my wire transfer went through, and I have a confirmation code. I wonder if this is the number I am looking for, but want to be absolutely sure.

What would happen if I entered the wrong number?

I find the instructions rather confusing, also in regards to the CGI number. If someone could clarify this for me, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks, everyone, for any replies!

Hello again,

I asked the bank today, and was told:

The confirmation number is not the only number that can be used to verify the wire. The IMAD number is the tracking number for the wire and also there is a transaction number.

Does anyone know which number I should enter?

Thanks so much!

Semi-off topic. Did your bank make you enter an address for the recipient? My bank won't send the transfer unless I have an address for the person receiving the money. I have no idea what to tell them.

The instructions from the embassy are:

  • Once we receive your payment, you will be sent an email to notify you.
  • Once you receive the email, you can then return to your account at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/to schedule your appointment(s). You will need to enter the CGI reference number, as displayed above.

I had the same problem.

I think we googled Stanley Associates and gave them a Vienna, Virginia address.

I am sorry I can't tell you more. The instructions are really lousy. Supposedly they have given us all the information we need, and then our banks tell us they do not have enough information.

To your second post: All I can tell you at this point is that our MRV number was entered by someone else, I assume the consulate. I am just waiting for some kind of information, but have not yet received an email. I will update you when I have new info.
