Hi everyone,

My wife and I are a little confused on what our next step is in regards to the I-693. She came in as a k-1 visa holder and completed her medical exam in Mexico City prior to her interview in Ciudad Juarez. She was never given any forms or issued the DS 3205. She remembers that during the medical exam, they told her that her vaccinations were incomplete at the time, that it would be fine for the k-1 visa but not for the adjustment of status, they said she should would eventually need to get more shots. We did not however receive anything that says what shots she has. My questions are: do we need to go to a uscis civil surgeon and fully complete the i-693? Or do i just submit and fill out what i can on the i-693 form and wait for an RFE ? Does anyone have any prior experience with things? Thanks in advanced!

The I-693 has to be completed, signed and sealed by a civil surgeon, you can not send it filled out by you, otherwise you will get an RFE for sure, which will only delay the process.

If it has been less than 12 months since your wife had her medical, all she needs is the vaccines part of the I-693 done, however, most civil surgeons prefer to do the whole medical exam in order to charge more.

This is something that everyone must do if they did not get the proper vaccinations at their medical exam in their country, there is no way around it.
