We sent in the I-751 exactly 90 days before my wife's conditional permanent resident card expired, this is sur a conflict of words, conditonal permanent. Over 18 months went by then her temporary driver's license has about to expire.

All we had to show was her expired conditional green card and that one year extension letter, they refused to accept this at our local DMV office. Then I had over a one weeks battle with our governors office and show them proof how slow the USCIS was on this issue. Then they agreed to renew her license until her one year extension notice expired after answering their question, and I quote, what in the hell is a one year extension notice.

I was not happy with this, perisistent, then they finally agreed to renew her license for the full eight years.

Came to mind this morning when this license was about to expire, where did eight years go? Just on a thought, I put her US passport in my shirt pocket, sure enough, they refused to issue her another new license until I pulled out her passport. Then they said fine, she has her new eight year license now.

For her citizenship, we also had to send in copies of her expired green card, one year extension notice, and a copy of her foreign passport with that I-551 stamp in it, That one year extension notice was about to expire. See finally received her permanent green card three weeks after her sucessful interview and one week before her oath ceremony only to give it back.

See not much progress has been made in processing that I-751 in the last eight years. Was a tenseful time, but we got through it.

Ha, in case anyone from the USCIS are reading this, we are still very happily married and paying taxes together.

Ha, more like 12 years at the time we agreed to get married, proving to the USCIS I had enough cash to support both her and her daugther, a year went by, Even though my wife to be had full custody of her daughter, we had to track down that don't give a darn biological father to get his permission to bring his daughter her.

When we finally got married, spent our honeymoon filling out those AOS forms that also required a ton of proof, but took practically another year before we were finally called in for our AOS interview. Sure was cross examined for our relationship, but was approved. So after a two year battle, learned they would only be issued a two year conditional card.

I did write down that I-751 form number and downloaded it couple of day later, so for the next two years, off and on, was gathering proof of our relationship. Ha, since I owned my home, paid for, an attorney wanted a thousand bucks to put her name on it. But after a long search, found the form, filled it out myself, was perfect, and only cost me ten bucks. No way to get around 70 bucks to add her name to my vehicles.

Due to long delays, USCIS demanded an update on our proof, but we were working on that N-400 the same time, so what we sent in for the I-751 was exactly the same thing. Wife told me she saw her file during the citizen interview, was about 4 inches thick. Got a kick from reading that paper reduction act.

Due to long delays, my stepdaughter barely turned 18, talked to the USCIS about this, 18 is 18, so we had to wait another two years for her, Another 1,350 miles of driving, another 650 bucks or so, then it was finally over.

What is strange about our DVM, went in there to show proof of my wife's US citizenship, didn't even want to look at it, just said for her to check that I am a US citizen box. But they sure wanted to see that proof this time. They also scanned her passport book, so hopefully, this is finally over.

Have to say our AOS interview was a pleasure all three of us were there together, very nice interviewer. Stepdaughter's citizenship interview was only ten minutes, she barely turned 18 so had to wait the full five years, no evidence was required. Wife applied for the three year, requiring tons of evidence, her interview lasted 50 minutes. Her interviewer was a meany, but at the end my wife really dissappointed her.

After all the valid required eviidence her interviewer requested a completely worthless joint utility bill, they don't care whose name is on the bill file a lean on the property owner. But we knew about this and had one, her interviewer was shocked when my wife pulled it out.

ROC was a complete nightmare for us.
