Hey guys!

The Visa Journey guide says that in the I-129F form packet the only birth certificate required is the Petitioner's (US citizen born in the US). But I have also seen places people saying the Birth Certificate of the Benefitiary should also be submited. So, should we submit borth birth certificates (mine also translated) or just his? I really don't wanna get a RFE

Thank you!! =)

Welcome to the forum.

If you follow the VJ K1 Guide, you will follow a guide that is based up thousands upon thousands of successful previous K1 visa seekers. Don't know about your other unnamed sources.

The initial I-129F petition is primarily for the vetting of the USC petitioner. The alien beneficiary will get their opportunity to present their documentation later on at the interviewing embassy/consulate phase of the process.

Explicitly follow the form instructions about the use of copies and translation requirements.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Shouldnt hurt anything if you do. Beneficiary eventually gonna need it anyway. It needs to be translated as its a document and if not English. USC should not be. USC doesn't need a BC either, its used as evidence for citizenship which alternatively could be USC passport.

Yes

The 129f forms instructions do not say this. They are the governing document.

You won't. It's needed for the interview.

Thank you!! =)

Thank you, guys! Another question, does his Birth Certificate need to be a certified or notarized? Or a simple copy is enough? Thanks again =)

For the petitioner, a simple copy (front AND back) is enough.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.
