Dear VJ,

You may remember I posted about having to reschedule my AOS Biometrics appointment in Modesto (original Bio appt was 8th Feb) because our adapted van had broken down. After a long wait another appointment came through for March 13th. My hubby and I have called all sorts of adaptive transport companies in the Stockton area to try and make this appointment. On Friday one guy on the phone assured me their company could do it and to call back Monday, today. I just did now another guy tells me it'd be too difficult for them because the trip isn't local. I've called the USCIS in Modesto and cannot get through to a human being. How do I inform them I cannot physically get to Modesto for this appointment? On the Bio appt letter it states that if you do not turn up for the appt they will consider your case abandoned. Does anybody know any transport companies for people in wheelchairs in the Stockton area that would go as far as Modesto? and if not what happens now if I cannot make the appointment? Reschedule for a second time and hope our luck turns?

Panicing,

Fiona & Andrew

Love hurts

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

When you can live life again in the real world but still have that eternal connection

When you wake up for to the beginning of the rest of your life with the person you fought so hard for

When you love somebody that much

You'll do anything

A little harsh that isn't it? Know of anywhere where you can rent an adapted van do you? Do you even know what an adapted van is?

Make every effort you can to get there. Don't quote me on this, but if you don't show there is a chance you could get denied. Call around to find help from friends, family, maybe even a religious group, something. I know Catholic Charities does a lot for people undergoing this immigration process. Look them up in your area and see what they have to offer. Best of luck to you.

You can rent it from adapted retal car office. It will cost around $130 a day. You can reserach it on the internet.

I could not go to my Biometrics in the day that I should because of the snow. Because my appointment letter said that I could go any Wednesday - from 02/13 till 04/27 - I did not call to reschedule. I went in the second Wednesday after my interview and had no problems.

Offices vary, mine didn't allow you to show up on a certain day, you needed to return the appointment letter and request a new time.

If you absolutely can't make it, I would mail them a copy of the letter back, add in a note to explain your situation and request a new time.

Fi, what about your local MDA chapter?

The information desk of your local hospital? They might have ideas of ambulance services.

Your husband cannnot take a day off and rent a van for you? I am sorry but I don't know why it is so difficult...

makidesuu, for your edification....

Fi's husband also has mobility issues and does not drive.

Check your mouth the next time before you pop off.

I did not know her husband does not drive a car. In her mail, it said their van got broken down, so I assumed he drives a car.

I just wanna say thanks for the help with Info though that an a few other sources are what we have already come across an either found they don't have service for the area needed or they don't do anything for immigration (Vantage Transport) an some frankly just aren't willing to wait. We are just trying to figure the BEST way for ourselfs as we don't have a money tree (LoL), But we have decided on two companies which we can bite down an afford. The point in my eye of my Wife posting was simply to know what would happend. Again thank's all for the constant help an advice when possible it makes thing's so much easier for Us.

Your husband cannnot take a day off and rent a van for you? I am sorry but I don't know why it is so difficult...

Usually if you don't know why then you shouldn't get assumptions Friend as alot could tell you, not to mention the "Search" feature, about our situation an why we ask such thing's. We are both in electric wheelchairs though yes I have made Every effort to make this happend ... such as having my Wife post this Thread as part of the effort. Knowledge is power and anyone going through this process in my humble opinion tend to agree, though I could be wrong...

Humbly,

Andrew of

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

Rightio Update,

Today we got in contact with a Helpful  USCIS phone operator who gave us the information we needed greatly, we explained Fiona's disability and our situation with our Transportation and that we had finished writing a cover-letter for our second rescheduling of the Biometrics Appt. we are facing right now. The Lady kindly proceeded to explain that cover-letters are extremely Important an that we did the right thing, further she advised us to wait for a response letter from USCIS at which point they will let us/Fiona know if either she can have her Biometrics taken at the Local Police Department or if they can provide Transportation to the Modesto USCIS Office for the next date we get scheduled for an Appointment. So with that reassurance we're sending the cover-letter an rescheduling off today in hopes of the best as always...

Thank's All whom follow us/our case and those whom don't that continue to Help in anyway possible, if it ever becomes needed we can do the same for others (have advised a good few couples about these Forum's whom are friends of ours but need guidance as we did in the process).

In The Kindest Regards,

Andrew & Fiona
