Approved...Now what?

We were told that we'd be contacted in a couple of days and we are in the second week of waiting. Ceac.state.gov went from saying no status to admistritive processing but it says if your visa is approved it'll be mailed in 2 business days. In Santo Domingo my understanding is that we go to pick up the passport at a location we choose. Also last night the ustraveldoc box where it did say Passport still at Consulate/UsEmbassy now says Delivery document information. But everywhere else says nothing and doesn't say if the Visa has been issued. I just wanted to know if this is normal? What's other's experience with this? What does this even mean? Will the wait be any longer ??

you will need to go to traveldocs webpage and submit an inquiry with your question. Make sure to include the beneficiaries passport number in the email. they respond rather quickly. I had the same issue once the passport was issued. I was able to get a tracking number with the post office. Make sure you don't have to pick up the passport. check with the embassy website if you are suppose to pick it up or its coming via mail to the address registered in the GSS website.

We do have to pick it up at a certain location that's why I got excited when I saw it changed but when I called the US Embassy passport tracker it said it was still there.. So I don't know what it means. Also where do I submit an inquiry at for Ustraveldocs

If you write to them, they just going to tell you to wait.

the same thing happend to me , it went from READY to AP for 4 days , they updated 3 times and then change to Issued.

on ustraveldoc the box where you see the delivery updates it went blank, next day passport was available for pickup. it took 15 days from the day of the interview to the day we went to Galeria 360 to get the passport. Also today is a Holiday so i don't think they gonna update.

The USTRAVELDOCS site went from "Visa is still at the Embassy" to "Document Delivery Information". I cannot click on the box that says "Document Delivery Information". I called the phone number and they gave me the AP status script and I said how is it possible if we were not issued a request for information and there were no questions with regards to documents issued.

There is a topic on the DR board under Hot Topics "Getting Passport Back (Dominican Republic)" Check it out...a lot of us are going through the same thing. Many have picked up but everyone had a wait. And a few of us including myself are STILL waiting.

Thank you! I will check it out and yeah we were approved 10/30 with no issues at all, and they kept his passport.. now we'e just waiting to hear back.

Does anyone know if this interfere's with the petition expiration because my petition expires in Dec, but his visa is approved what if he doesn't get his passport back before it expires?

Have you checked you status on the CEAC website? Checking there will give you a better idea of what is going on.

I did and it says the case is in AP, and if the visa gets approved it will be 2-3 business days and that was updated Nov 5th. So it's not very helpful.

With the holiday this week , you should hear something this week or no later than mid next week.

The status will go back to Ready then back to AP then issued....hopefully you will see this between today and early next week

It JUST turned to issued like less than an hour ago.. And it says wait 10-15 days until they've contacted my fiance to pick up his passport..

I went to issued on a thursday also and my wife had her visa in hand that monday!

now ustraveldocs should show a status maybe tomorrow of "documents have been received from post and are being prepared for delivery"

Just an update. My fiance's status went to Ready for pick up on Fridat and had it in his hands on Saturday. He's now flying in on Tuesday. Thanks for being so helpful.
