I have filled out my DS-160, Visa profile, paid my visa fee, and emailed the Embassy. When i called the embassy yesterday they said my case escalated to the superior (what does that mean?) and told me there is nothing to do at his point but wait for a response. My approval notice expires tomorrow and the embassy is closed today due to veterans day in the USA. Do i need to start my K-1 petition all over again? I asked for an extension and the person on the phone told me that the superior decides that and she cant do anything to help me with that. Can anyone tell me what to do and whats going on?

Which approval notice are you referring to? Your NOA-2, NVC Case number? In either case contact the USCIS or NVC directly on the tomorrow asap. Today is a federal holiday, I doubt they will be open. As far as your case being elevated to the superior, in all my research, I've never heard of that. When our petitions reach the embassy stages of the process, they all seem to handle things differently. Get on this matter as soon as you can.

I only received a letter from the USCIS, never from the NVC. I found out last thursday that my Case was approved by the NVC and sent to the US Embassy in Tunisia August 5th 2015.

Generally the embassy automatically re-validates petitions. So try not to worry about your petition expiring today.

Must be just additional AP. Just wait.

and told me there is nothing to do at his point but wait for a response. My approval notice expires tomorrow and the embassy is closed today due to veterans day in the USA.

The Embassy automatically extends the expiration. Nothing for you to do or to worry about.

Do i need to start my K-1 petition all over again?

No

You're undergoing AP and your case is still open and fine.

thankyou so much , that was very helpful. What is AP, i am not familiar with all the terms?

In this case Administrative Processing.

Everyone goes through this, it could be just another background check or something more obscure. It does seem to be country-specific.
