Regarding police certificate .Plz help

My case number is assigned and so processing has started on spouse visa.I will soon need a police certificate.I am a doctor living in lahore pakistan.i did my medical education from karachi.When i contacted police station iin karachi,they told me they cant give me police character certificate as my national identity card is of lahore...And that i will have to take it from the university i attended.This does not make sense as NVC clearly states they need police record.Plz any pakistani member help me urgently

Per the country reciprocity schedule, a police certificate from Pakistan is considered unavailable and not required to submit.

Police Records

Not available. Pakistan has no nationwide tracking system in place for criminal activities. Police Character Certificates are available for a fee from District Coordinating Offices. However, they are not an accurate reflection of an individual's criminal record. An applicant who has committed a crime in one district may be able to obtain a clean Character Certificate from that district or another. Given the inaccuracy of these certificates, they are not required for consular processing.

it is required .. coz i personally submit it ... and you can get it from Lahore i think you dont need it from Karachi ... why would you want it from karachi ..

i lived in UK then islamabad, but i prepare the police certificate from my local area.. and they didnt asked anything yet

I don't think you need a police certificate for Pakistan I have read it somewhere can't recall

You are NOT required to submit a police character certificate from Pakistan. Submitting one or not submitting one will have no impact on your case.

I would suggest you to get one. You can get from Lahore. No need to get it from Karachi as your residence is not here.

You never know when and why they put you on AP. Better to be on safe side.

A male from Pakistan is pretty much guaranteed to be in AP for an unknown period of time. The people who do not end up in AP are severely outnumbered by those who are.

The Pakistani people could attempt to fix this by trying to get a nationwide police check, like other countries have, instated. How difficult this would be, I haven't a clue unfortunately. It's quite possible that many are already trying without success.

Females do end up in AP as well but are fewer in number and generally for less time, at least according to teports on this forum. Obviously this forum only represents a portion of visa cases.

I certainly feel that the stereotyping done by the US government is unfair, however that doesn't make it unwarranted.

Just to clear a few things up, NO you DO NOT need a police certificate at all, they will not ask for it at the interview or anything. As for AP, my husband and many other men I know have been approved at the ISB embassy without AP. There are many more people(men) approved without AP than people(men) entering AP nowadays. Yes there is a much higher chance of it than other embassies, but it is certain not a given or nearly a given for a man going through ISB.
