You need to be in the US more than you are out of it. The point of being a permanent resident is to reside in the US. http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted/maintaining-permanent-residence

~ Moved from K-1 Process to Working & Traveling During US Immigration - not K-1 process, topic is travel as an LPR ~

When you get your LPR card AKA Green Card, I-551, you can travel outside the U.S. as much as you want. However, you have to demonstrate that you plan to live in the U.S. and not spending more time outside the U.S. than in the U.S. If you stay outside the U.S. past 180 days it is possible you would be pulled into secondary for some questioning. If you fail to demonstrate your intent to live in the U.S. you maybe forced to choose between voluntarily surrendering your green card or they set you up for a "notice to appear" or NTA to see an immigration judge. The latter would be a pain for you if that happens.

I am in the US through a K1 visa. I would like to know if once i receive my green card, can I go out of the US as many time as I would like or is there a limit amount of times ? How long can I be out of the US

No limit as to number of trips but you must be in the US for, I believe, a minimum of 6 months per year.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Now if there is an emergency outside the US that requires you to be out of the US for more than 180 days than you can go apply for a re-entry permit with USCIS that can allow you to stay outside the US longer.
