Hi guys,

I've gathered all of the necessary documents required for Marriage Registration in Nha Trang, Vietnam and the only document that is missing is Certificate of No Marriage.

From HCMC Embassy website guides:

6. A letter by the local vital statistics office certifies that no marriage license or marriage certificate of the applicant is found within the state where the applicant is residing in. The search period must be started from the year when the applicant was 18-year-old up to date. In case the applicant was divorced, or the spouse has been deceased, a certified photocopy of a divorce decree or a death certificate must be submitted. (This requirement varies from province to province).

From VN US Embassy guides:

Certificate of No-marriage Records issued by the State (or County) Vital Statistics Office within the last six months certifying that no marriage license or marriage record of the applicant has been found from his/her mature age of marriage (age of 18 for female or 20 for male) or since his/her divorce up to now or since his/her spouse’ death up to now.

I went to my State's county (Loudoun, Virginia) court and they said there no such thing because they cannot do a search. My question is, how can i obtain the document and is it required at Nha Trang Official at all?

Thank you

I went to my States vital stats office? Not the county court? Id suggest calling them up.

They didnt have a single status cert but they ran searches attesting no records of marriage for me. I included mine. No RFE.

Virginia birth and death records from 1912 to the present, divorce records since 1918 and marriage records since 1936 are now available in an index form. Click here to access indexed information on open records. In Virginia, death, marriage and divorce data become “public” information 25 years after the event; birth data are “public” after 100 years.

Welcome to the Division of Vital Records and Health Statistics. We receive an average of 30,000 calls a month to the Vital Records Information Line. In addition, 9,000 people stop by our office each month requesting certified copies of birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates. We house over 7 million records detailing this information for the citizens of Virginia. You can place a call with one of our Customer Service Representatives by dialing 804-662-6200.

Certificate of No Marriage = single status?

just go to the us embassy in vn. ask for it for single status if it's the same as certificate of no marriage.

if u want to do here. you go to country clerk and ask for a record of your marriage. if you are single, then it will show nothing. then you take that paper and send to your Secretary of state. require a seal of stamp from them.

That exactly what i did, went to clerk, ask if she can search and she said they cannot do it, I already got my Affidavit of Single Status and Biographic Information Sheet Notarized, Wonder if that enough in Nha Trang?

I would think that is all you need to prove that you're eligible to get married in VN.
