My fiancee is coming soon on a k1 visa, and she has one birth certificate now. As she's from a remote town, it takes weeks to get a NSO issued birth certificate. Is 1 copy OK for her to start AOS process? Is she going to need more copy to get US gov't issued ID/SS id/ drivers license etc....???

Filed: AOS (pnd) Country: Philippines
Timeline

There is no place that I can recall that takes her original from here, they just want to see an original or a copy.

I thought you could order BC online in Philippines and have them sent anywhere in the world......

My wife has been through just about every process there is in the U.S. and she still has the same birth certificate that she arrived with:

Got a Social Security number

Opened a bank account

State ID

Driver license

Adjusted status

Removed conditions

U.S. citizenship

U.S. passport

Report of Marriage

Reacquired Filipino citizenship

Replaced her Philippines passport

Worked in the private sector

Worked for the U.S. government
