Draconian administrative action has been taken against one member for violations of these TOS provisions:

I think this has always happened. Its the cameras and the social media that are bringing attention to it. Stories like this would have been swept under the rug 30 years ago.

I think it's twofold.

1. For sure the heightened media coverage plays the biggest role, I agree that these types of things have always happened but were never front page news and we never had the types of social media we have now. I believe the same goes for the child abduction and sexual abuse cases we hear about constantly. But it's a new age for reporting and these things get out there fast and unfortunately incorrect at first which leads to misplaced hysteria.

2. I do believe that the younger generations are brought up with a higher level of fear instilled in them that we also never had in our day. In turn we get kneejerk, over the top reactions in incidents such as this one. The constant barrage of killings and assaults that are shown on the daily news could have something to do with it.

One lesson to be taken from this episode is that police brutality is a fact. In the past months, there have been many trying to explain, and justify all the shooting and killings by police in our country, and this proves them wrong. We The People were right to demand justice then, and We The People are right in demanding justice now.

I think it's twofold.

As if you don't ever inject race into anything ? ?

As for mentioning race. I think it's a valid point, as we are constantly being told here , that this kind of stuff only happens to black people.

Happens mostly to black people.

The reverse happens. It would've been more accurate to call police killings of unarmed white suspects rare.

There is a reason federal guidelines advise officers not to shoot at moving vehicles. Bullets are relatively ineffective at stopping moving vehicles, and the risk to innocent passengers and bystanders is extremely high.

We've seen many of these cases swept away, but I have a feeling we are going to see murder convictions in this case.

Can't have it both ways. People constantly say, even on vj, black people are lying about police brutality and it doesn't exist. To scream police brutality when it happens to a white person is also admitting that black people were not lying about police brutality. So there are those who would rather ignore the brutality that is also happening to white youth in the name of not addressing an issue that plagues black people.

No its not and DOJ stats prove it

I am all on board with police brutality being a problem, and have never said otherwise. All I am saying is it cuts across racial barriers

What stats? Post them up saying that white people experience police brutality at the same or more rate than minorities.

I Doubt the whole story is out. Has anyone on here seen the body cam footage? Many times the first reports have a few things wrong. I will wait and see what the evidence shows before wanting to string anyone up. Heck it may turn out the father needs to be strung up.

Doesn't look good. The father had no weapon and had his hand's in the air. Also looks like a preexisting grudge with one of the marshals.
