I'd love to try the Brazillian, its just, even after having a kid (where most of your inhibitions about your body tend to disapear pretty fast) Im still not comfortable with flashing my bits to some stranger in a salon!

But I dont like when you shave, and it grows back, it itches like a mare! All the hairs being blunt-ended (cos they've been shaved) isn't fun either - I know waxing makes them grow back finer so less itch factor would be a bonus but still...

I have been Brazillian for years.....wouldnt have things any other way. The frilly bits get used to the waxing after a while so it dont hurt no more (maybe just a lil). Sometimes I shave though just depends on whats happening at the time as generally have to wait for certain amount of regrowth before can do the wax again. As for the modesty part.......hey I even end up on all fours :innocent: I used to get the all over spray tan too so I would be standing there stark naked for that one. Had the same lady doing it for years so I kinda lost my shyness pretty quick :P

I've had a brazilian before and loved it until it started to grow out. I did not get around to waxing last night so I've caved and am calling the salon today to go and have it done.....sigh. I'm such a chicken.

Why IS waxing so expensive here?? After all, it is a skill the newest beautician can pick up very quickly. (Well except maybe for Brazilian waxes!)

I got a flyer from some cheapo hairdressing chain yesterday that said 'waxing services available'. Has anyone tried a chain like that?

Margot is the name of the woman that does my brazilian....................she knows me more intimately than Gavin does now  I don't care if she is 100 years old-I won't be going to anyone else

I am telling you girls it is totally worth it-hurts the first time, but if you keep up with it.............there is no pain at all!!! No hair-NONE for 6 weeks. I pay $40now, I have just heard about a woman who does it for $25 but...................I would rather pay $40 to the woman who has already seen it all(well at least seen all of me).

For all you messy waxers, baby oil removes the leftover wax...

yes it absolutely does

good tip

Take the ibuprofen about an hour before your appointment-it will make a huge difference.

I stopped going for a while(didn't have the money and my man is 3000 miles away) but I am glad that I started going back-now there won't be much for her to deal with, which means a lot less pain for me!!

good luck today!

in related skin care news...after my soccer match on Sunday I got FRIED on my face...now I look leathery, and I know it's about to peel - by thetime I get to Oz I'll be a scaley, dry skinned MESS so I need all the help I can get in other areas to make up for it :P

My face feels like leatherface too - I had no idea it was going to be that bright or sunny...read the weather next time I guess and wear sunblock.

oh well.
