Fees at the airport

I thought the terminal fee was supposed to be included in your ticket but I left there earlier this year (May 2015) and had to pay the 750 pesos. I would recommend you have that 750 pesos available just in case.

Thanks d&C. I thought we have gone away with travel tax. Apparently it is still there. :( I really have to write this somewhere so I don't forget. Thanks again!

Not true. Depends on how long they stay. We were there 3 months this past summer, my wife had to pay P200 before she was issued her boarding pass.

I will be interesting to see how that works once her citizenship is done and she has a U.S. passport too.

Travel Fees:

Travel Tax/Exit Fee for all those immigrating: 1,620 Php (currently) Can be paid at the airport. Rules have changed recently so it's not included with the purchase of your airline ticket. Counter is staffed 24/7 at NAIA for all terminals.

I believe you got ripped off, I think you have to stay past 365 days in order to pay travel tax in your case.......

Well the P200, so I have learned is for the exemption certificate.

http://www.tieza.gov.ph/index.php/travel-tax

THE FOLLOWING ARE SUBJECT TO THE PHILIPPINE TRAVEL TAX:

1. Citizens of the Philippines
2. Taxable Foreign Passport Holders (Table 1)
3. Non-immigrant foreign passport holders who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one (1) year (Table 2)
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AVAILMENT OF THE TRAVEL TAX EXEMPTION:
Note: Presentation of original passport and payment of PHP 200.00 per certificate is required in all cases.

Travel tax is for all Filipinos traveling outside the country, not just those immigrating.

My wife has traveled to a variety of countries and she has always had to pay travel tax before leaving.

I think it was early this year they got rid of the terminal fee if the ticket was purchased domestically and included in the ticket price already. Thus I have not paid at the NAIA this year; HOWEVER, I've been asked to pay at Butuan airport. Have I gotten ripped off? or the new rule is including only NAIA, so I have to pay terminal fee at other airport except NAIA?
