Really wish people would stop using Phones/Mobiles for VJ

I think this really perpetuates the repetitive questions and posts as the mobile version of the site is limited in its feature set and utility.

I think this leads to the poor searching.

The lack of +Rep posts and the 'thanks' posts

Why people have bad timelines and inaccurate profiles.

Why people seem oblivious to the guides/timelins/faqs/reviews and other feature sets that are otherwise ubiquitous on the site

Wish the site would only support a full/desktop version, think it would alleviate the noise.

And yea Im sensitive some beneficiaries may have easier access to phones/mobile only. But most of this paperwork and stuff would need to be done via pc. Filling out forms and such.

Anyways, just ranting I suppose sorry.

Thanks for the solidarity La Souris.

I'm not an alumni or anything yet but just in my fast/furious stint here so far it seems pretty pervasive. I would think like me going on the site and checking it all out would help deter some of the lurkers and stuff. I can't argue with you before the ubiquitous nature of mobiles, but I would still think making it less easy would maybe help reduce the noise, certainly not eliminate it.

I am not obtuse to think these std things will not be continued to be asked, but enabling it just encourages some users to do it progressively. I mean sometimes someone answers something and they its just immediately spawns 10x more questions of which they never processed the first answer yet.

Again I think the mobile site doesnt seem to flow well enough for most users cause they dont seem to see the guides/profiles/timelines very well.

Why threads aren't tagged....etc.

When you can ask your 'special snowflake' (love this comparison btw) questions while taking care of natures business...maybe one ought to commit a little more effort to this journey.

Anyways sorry if i'm whining / venting. While I wait try to come here sometimes more than I should, should be working...but it gets mighty frustrating and I think even some little things could maybe help curb it.

Cheers

Believe me, it was no better when smartphones and tablets were rare. Intellectual laziness and lack of research skills are nothing new...

Always going to be 75 messages per day on maiden/married names, what to put where, when to use, where to file.

Plus, the special snowflake requests - yes, it's been answered ad nauseam, but it's me so I expect a different or personalized answer.

I Concur with stuff in post #1. Handphones suck.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I completely agree. It's sadly gone to the point where I can't be bothered to help people if they didn't even tried to access the guides. I have even given up on telling them to read the guides or use the search function. I just let someone who is not tired of it yet serve the answer on a silver platter which the person could have figured out by themselves if they just got on a laptop/pc/chromebook/whatever and looked at it themselves.

The worse situation is when people don´t understand what you mean...

Many answers pops all around with a lot of misuderstanding situations...

I gave up...

I know my english is not perfect, but come on...

(I use VJ at my desktop!)

I´LL START TO LIVE BACK AGAIN WHEN I´LL BE ON MY HUBBY´S ARMS, FOREVER AND EVER. UNTIL THERE, I DON´T LIVE. I SURVIVE. (L)

Wish the site would only support a full/desktop version, think it would alleviate the noise.

Many people don't have anything but a phone nowadays. Today's phones are more powerful than the average computer from 10 years ago. The screen resolutions are just as good, if your eyes can handle it. Many people have gigabytes of data to burn. Maybe it's time to stop dumbing down the mobile versions of websites.
