All the gay Muslims I know or know of were born into Islam. If there are some that are reverts, Well, that would be different.

Why would it be different?

i'd guess that it might be that they were born a muslim in one case, but in the other they had realized their orientation before they reverted?

i know several female and one male muslims who are gay...they tend to be more invovled in the progressive branch of islam...and for me...

Sure, there are straight and gay Muslims. Irshad Manji, the Islam critic, is a lesbian. I even know a couple of gay imams. That sounds like a contradiction, but they also exist.

I saw her on CNN. I really like her but I didn't know she was a lesbian, damnn. I thought she was very pretty and had that sexy inteligence to go with. Not that it matters really but still sucks to find out some are playing for the other team. Hmmm? Does she play in both leagues? or does she stick to the women leagues only?

I have no doubt as to the validity of the verses but rather on the interpretation you present. I think God had a definate problem with the raping and pilaging going on, but the next logical step is not to say he had something against homosexuality.

and the second verse was spoken in what context? heterosexual men taking male lovers. Again no logical step to God condemning sexual orientation.

First of all, I didn't present an interpretation. I merely posted the verses. And, it really matters little what either of us think, apologetically or literally. The fact is, it's there. The Quran also says He made all things in two, male and female. Show us where he said male and male or female and female, plz.

I have gay friends and I hold them dear, but there's no way I'm going to promote God as condoning homosexuality. You may, if that pleases you, but there is no real context for it.
