Hello

My fiancé is presently living in Japan. She lived in Tokyo for 2 years about 25 years ago. Then she moved to Saitama Prefecture and has lived in that Prefecture at various addresses for the last 23 years. She does not remember her address in Tokyo. Does she need to get a Police Certificate from both Tokyo police authorities and Saitama police authorities; or, does she only need to get one from the Saitama Prefecture police authority where she has lived for more than two decades.
(NOTE: My fiancé was born in South Korea and we already received the Korean Police Certificate with the help of the Korean Embassy in Japan)

Thank you in advance for any advice offered.

Eric

My understanding is that if she lived somewhere for more than six months AND she was more than 16 years old, she needs a police report from that area. Does Japan issue a nationwide police report, or is it done regionally?

Japan issues only one per applicant.

Hello Maria4Garrett:

Thank you so much for your quick response.

I want to mention that you have responded to other questions of mine earlier and each answer has been super helpful. Over the summer I was confused about how to respond to an RFE regarding proof of Japanese Kyogi Rikon divorce. You told me to send the Certificate of Acceptance document, which I did, and our case was approved by the Texas Service Center 3 weeks later. I am very grateful for your always helpful assistance. You are one of the people who make VisaJourney so special!!!
