Hey Lisa & Spence :) I live in Northern Central FL.

Easties is no longer on BeebAmer Dunno about Emmerdale, but imo BeebAmer is sh!t. Nowt but Trading Spaces, Cash in the Attic, Footy Wives from like 10 years ago  and whatnot.

Prem Footy is usually on FSC - a cable channel.

There's a great lil British Pub in Altamonte Springs. St Andrew's Tavern, I believe it's called. Dave and I have been there a few times and we like the atmosphere. I can't remember which team most of the place supports, but one time when there was a big Sund match (when they were in the Prem), I called up and they said instead of watching that, they were going to watch a rebroadcast of another match. So that kinda sucks, but eh, ya gotta make due I suppose. Tho if you support one of the bigger teams, it might be perfect for ya.

We also went to this fake Brit Pub in Orlando called the George and Dragon. It's wine and lager only, they sell Walkers Crisps for like $2 a bag, lol...and they have fake alchopops...like instead of wickeds, they have WLD. Not made from vodders like in the UK, but eh it kinda tasted similar. They have a huge English patron base, tho we found that it was more on the 'Brits on Hols' crowd than expats. They have a few big screens, which is good...we watched a few of the matches during the World Cup there.

Never heard owt on WEB TV

Let me know if there's any more info I can give ya. And when D gets here, we should meet up for a drink!

ETA: this would be a great topic in the UK regional forum.

Does anyone know which cabble TV / sattelite TV to get to watch English football,

As already suggested FSC (Fox Soccer Channel) which I get as part of the Sports Package from Direct TV, the US equivalent of SKY.

There is also Setanta Sports which carries the English Premier League. I had both initially and dropped Setanta as FSC has matches from other English leagues as well as the Premiership. Both carry some games live, which is a bit early out here on the US west coast but in Florida a 3pm UK kick off would be ok.

Both channels carry matches other than English and Setanta carries The 6 nations rubgy as well.

What to expect at the POE - WIKI entry

I've heard about Setanta before...do they carry first division matches? Cos if I'm not mistaken, FSC only does Prem matches. I don't have the sports channels yet, but will do after D gets here. Last year I caught a few games at a local sports bar, but our team was relegated, so this season, I've been essentially blind here :(

Eh, won't have to worry about this next season, mind ;) GWAN SUNDERLAND! lol

we have FSC too...Hmmm..will have to ask Craig this Lisa...he was just up, but gone back to bed now. I know we've seen results for Gillingham, but I've never seen a match that's non-premiership. (I mean cup games, and all games like that...but as far as league play, just prem.) Maybe 'cause there's so many, dunno....would be cool if they did though. To the OP though....yeah, Fox Soccer Channel for sure. Craig said he sees more of the games televised here than he would have in England... :) M.

In Houston, we get PBS which shows Eastenders (x2 episodes) every Sunday. They're from Nov 2001 at the mo, but still better than nothing.
