Hi,

Your husband needs a new I-864 to reflect that he no longer has the job listed on the old one. You will need a Joint Sponsor if your husband can not meet the I-864 requirements.

Best of luck

How will they know at the interview that your husband has lost his job unless you inform them? What if he lost his job the day after the interview? The info they want is the taxes from the previous year so his current employment status is kinda irrelevant.

Don't encourage people to hide a material fact.

They have a legal obligation to disclose material changes. Therefore, his current employment status is completely relevant. If it's irrelevant as you state, then why hid something that is irrelevant from the US government? Be cause it's not irrelevant as you state and you know it.

Going with a false I-864 is committing immigration fraud.

So the entire "they don't know your husband lost his job unless you inform them" is bad advice because you don't understand the legal obligation to disclose and you are encouraging people to lie for an immigration benefit.
