I completely agree with you. Inconsistency has been a frustration from the initial K1 petition stage for many of us. The website is no help either.

Mine has never updated, even though I have the paper approval in my hand. My daughter's status went straight to the tracking number saying the card is on its way. Mine, although it appears to have been processed a day before hers, has no updates. In fact the old case for the AP (we already have the combo card) has actually changed from saying it was approved to a notice stating it was returned to USCIS by the post office. I have the dang thing with me. In short, the website is screwed up.

I think what makes it harder when waiting is that the agents you speak to when you call can't see what is happening beyond what we can see on the website. I called on Monday and put in a service request. Apparently we had already been approved, but the agent could see the same as what I could and dutifully obliged with my request. You would have thought she should have been able to see that it was processed already, but it seems they don't have access to any more information than what we can see on the malfunctioning website. It's as reliable as the rhythm method!

I love it "  it seems they don't have access to any more information than what we can see on the malfunctioning website. It's as reliable as the rhythm method!"

Hey guys quick update on my case: my husband and I went to the interview last Tuesday, and it went pretty well.

Just to follow up on the inconsistencies, there was absolutely no logic to when we were called lol. Tickets order was not followed, and some people who arrived way after us got in before us. All in all we waited almost 1.5 hours before going in.

The interview lasted 10-15 minutes, the officer asked me to pull out paperwork showing finances sharing while she questioned my husband asking him how we met, when we moved in together and whatnot. Then she asked me a few things like his birth date, and that was it. She said there shouldn't be any problem and I should receive the card within 8 weeks. We didn't have a lawyer, probably half the people in the waiting room had one.

I got worried quickly though, because 2 people I know got a text and email notification a few hours after their interview and I got nothing. But yesterday, I received the "Welcome to America" letter in the mail, saying that my card should arrive within 3 weeks. But I received no alert other than the letter and my case has not been updated on the website (it was updated fairly normally up to now... Go get it).

So it's looking up for me, although I won't jinx it and will wait to have the card in my hands before celebrating lol.

Also I'm so sorry for all of you guys that seem stuck in the process, it's really awful. It's just crazy to see how differently we are all treated. It looks like my case went along a pretty standard timeline, the only action I had to take was the post 75 days service request but then everything went ok. I hope things get sorted out sooner than later for everyone, but maybe it would be a good idea to get an attorney at some point, who could help moving things along?

I'll let you know when I actually get the card.

Sounds like our situation. Two applications (K1 and K2), one with website update and one without. Two letters received in the mail with approval notification. One green card received and still waiting for the one that was processed the day or two before the one we have. If we try to apply logic to anything in this process we'll drive ourselves nuts.

Congratulations though. It's nice to see more approvals coming in on this thread. Hopefully the rest will follow soon!

Still no green card.

I think the "Name was Updated" status on my husband's i485 messed something up. I've put in two service requests. The first one on April 15, the email reply said the same day he got the "Name was Updated" status on March 16 that he was approved and the card was in production. Put in another service request on May 5 and the status on that is just "assigned to an officer". If I don't hear anything from the 2nd service request, I guess an infopass appointment is next?

Disregard the website information, It's all over the place and some of our 'updates' have even gone backward in time! Did you ever receive a paper approval notice?

Nope. Nothing in the mail either. That's why we did the service request. If we would have at least got the paper approval, I would have felt a little more comfortable. But we haven't received anything.

Plus, the Name was Updated status. When my husband called, he told them we did not put in for any kind of name update and the tier 2 kept saying we did. Then she said maybe our account was hacked. So he asked what we can do and she said there was no much you can do. WHAT?!?!?! So that's when he put in a service request online explaining that he did not put in for a name update or change and this is what he got back....."to notify us about name change or typographical error on your Approval Notice". That's not what his service request was about.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid or impatient but I just want to make sure there isn't any problems and it's almost impossible to find out from USCIS.

On April 15, 2016, you contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence to notify us about a name change or typographical error on your Approval Notice. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

On March 16, 2016 your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence was approved.

We have reviewed our electronic records and found that your Permanent Resident Card (PRC) is already in production. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop the card production, at this point in time. You will receive your PRC within the next few weeks. If you receive your Permanent Resident Card (PRC) with an error then read below as to what you may do.

What You Can Do

To receive a PRC with corrected information, you may wish to submit an original Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, with the applicable filing fee. Please read instructions on the Form I-90 instruction page carefully before filing your application with us.

Hi guys,

After being stuck waiting for 6 months (seriously, we submitted the paperwork in November and I've re-sent data for RFE in December) - finally some action. We got interview scheduled for June! YAY! Light at the end of the tunnel.. now is that an exit or a coming train, right? Getting nervous about this already. :)

Now, are there good tips on what to bring to interview around here? I'm gonna look, but if someone who's been approved got any good pointers here on VJ, it's much appreciated.

No I don't think you're being paranoid. I'd also want to check. Our status online never updated to show the finger print fee had been received. Mine has never updated but I got my paper approval. My daughter has her Green Card already but she was approved after me and there is no sign of mine. I just went to check what our approval notices say and they tell you that if you don't have your Green Card within three weeks from the date of the notice to call (800) 375-5283. I suspect that is the same customer service number we are using for all our inquiries. I think it's time for an Infopass appointment for you guys so you can speak face to face with a human. You are well beyond three weeks since you applied and seriously, the odds of your account being 'hacked' are minimal. I think the agent just didn't know what to say to make you go away ...! That's utter nonsense and tells you nothing. Not helpful at all.

So sorry you are having to go through this, but I do think you are justified in being concerned and Infopass may be better than a service request at this stage.

Was checking the updated processing timeline for Albany, NY office. It only moved 6 days from 9/15 to 9/21 between February and March. I know these dates are not exact, but it is still frustrating. When is an AOS considered "outside normal processing time" in order to send an e-request status? 6 months? If I called in, would they be able to tell me if the file is even in Albany yet?

Keeping the faith with the rest of you also waiting.

Great to see some of you with recent approvals!

If you put in an online service request, the receipt number will have your local office at the end if it's there. Like my husbands had PIT at the end because our local is Pittsburgh and the email reply to the service request also had the Pittsburgh office address.

We did a service request a few months before for something and it didn't have the PIT on it because I it wasn't at our local office yet.

That's some good information, thank you. I just checked my service request number and it does have JAC at the end, so that probably means that my case is at least in Jacksonville.

I tried to do a service request, but says it still within normal processing times. My NOA has a received date of 11/27/15, but a Notice date of 11/30/15. So I am thinking the normal processing time is 6 months before you can request? I would have to wait until 5/30/16, if nothing happens by then?

Well... I just got a response to my service request saying that they can't proceed until the local office gets the case from the National Benefits Center... That would explain why I haven't heard anything about my case even though it's been 168 days since we applied... I'm very frustrated...

Timeline

Hey everyone, well the journey is finally over for me :). I received my Green Card in the mail yesterday!

Just to keep you informed on notifications inconsistencies, here is a quick recap of the last 2 weeks:

- Tuesday May 3rd: went for my GC interview with my husband. Unlike a lot of people, I didn't get any notifications either by email or text in the hours following.

- Monday May 9th: got the "Welcome to America" letter in the mail informing me that I would receive my card in the next 3 weeks.

- Wednesday May 11th: got a text saying that I-130 is approved.

- Thursday May 12th: got an email saying that I-130 is approved (usually I get the text and email right at the same time...)

- Saturday May 14th: got an email AND a text saying that I-485 is approved, and that my card has been mailed. Weirdly enough, the email says "The tracking number assigned is UNAVAILABLE. You can use your tracking number at www.USPS.com in the Quick Tools Tracking section." However, when I logged into the USCIS case tracker on the internet, the tracking number was right there :bonk: . This is really nuts!

- Saturday May 14th: CARD IS IN MY MAILBOX!

So all in all, it took 192 days / 6 months and 9 days between the moment I posted my application to the moment I had the card in my hands. I guess it's a pretty average timeline for my situation, which was adjusting from a E2 work visa to permanent residency through marriage. I'm really glad I didn't spend money on a lawyer for a process that, luckily for me, was rather uneventful.

Anyway, congrats to anyone who also got their card, and I'm really wishing the very best to the rest of you who are still waiting, and/or struggling to get any info from USCIS. I'll check the updates to see how everyone is doing!
