Hi guys, so does RFE on I-485 affects your EAD approval at all? I just receive RFE last week which is expected because I didn't file I-864 along with my initial I-485. Does it also put a hold on my EAD application as well?

Yes, your EAD will be on hold too. However, depending on how quickly you respond with your documents, you still have a chance of being approved within a decent time.

See my posting on the previous page and also my timeline (and my signature). My RFE didn't seem to affect my EAD/ AP approval at all, and neither did delaying my Biometrics appointment. In fact, I seemed to get my EAD/ AP approved quicker than many who filed at similar times, did Biometrics earlier and who didn't have RFE's.

What another poster said seemed to make sense regarding whether it was an RFE for initial or additional evidence. What was yours? Mine was for initial and the USCIS told me that this held them back from processing anything so they still have 90 days from their receipt of my RFE response to process the EAD.

EDIT: I see yours was a form issue. In that case, potentially they overlooked it as it wasn't an evidence issue per se?

Mine was a request for Initial Evidence. The I-864 I sent was out of date (many people made the same mistake and used this form at the end of last year). Furthermore, my USCIS case status hasn't been updated since November 27th when they notified me of the RFE. It was sent and proved delivered to them on December 26th, but I still have no idea if they have actually received it or not as there's been no updates since.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had a similar timeline... we received an update January 11, 2016 that our case was ready to be scheduled for an interview and haven't heard anything since. I was wondering from what date we go by in order to submit a service request for EAD/AP. Our EAD was last updated 12/01/15 to say the following On November 27, 2015, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXXX and our NOA1 is dated 12/01/15. So, what date do we start our 75 day count down from???

thank you!

Go by the NOA date for the I-765. If it was 12/01/15 then you are at day 70 now so in 5 more days you can whack in a Service Request.

OK got my EAD in mail today (02/09) it was sent by Priority mail . They updated status about delivery, but I think tracking number should be written when they send it , not then letter was delivered.. So it took 6 days after approval to get it . GC still not sent (or notification not sent).

Finally an update, my wife's i765 was approved this morning. Just curious if there is still a wait for them to process card or if there is anything we have to do.

Still waiting on update on i485, hopefully will receive an update soon.

They are very erratic with their updates. My case status told me they were sending an RFE before I received it and then updated once they'd received it. I went with tracked UPS ground shipping just to be safe, too.

My case status has changed from 'Your new card is being produced' to 'Your case was approved'. Weird case updates haha.
