So. I went to USCIS in milwaukee today, which was 2 pm. it's a 1-hour ride. when I got there, with my passport and the appointment letter, they told me that they couldnt get my fingerprints bc in my passport i have my maiden name and the letter is with my married name, so i need the marriage certificate to prove im the same person. so now, i have to reschedule the appointment. great.... im so pissed off. i waited for this day so much, and now, i have to wait more. i need to get the EAD as soon as possible and start working. it really put me down i even cried after i walked out the building.

I'm sorry this happened to you, when basically the exact opposite happened to me today. I had my biometrics today, which was also an hour drive away. But right before I left I actually thought to myself that my passport had my maiden name and my letter had my married name, and so I quickly grabbed my marriage certificate to show USCIS the name change. When I got there, the receptionist took my letter and passport (which she did ask for), and I told her I had my marriage certificate. She said she didn't need the certificate and didn't once even look at my passport. <_<

I'm amazed at the inconsistency. I hope that you can reschedule quickly - I personally don't believe it will delay your applications since the appointments were so quick to be scheduled in the first place.

This is something that it really pisses me off, that things are different everywhere. Im so sick that people give you the wrong information all the time, anyone knows anything for sure.

Now i missed the appointment. Ive reading here and some people say that usually they reschedule it in one month, I also read some people who missed the appointment just walked in and got their fingerprints taken, again, it depends on the center and if they want to do it or not. I think ill go this monday and see if i have any luck, otherwise i will justa have to reschedule and wait for a new date.

You mean that check your case by receipt number ,right???

I've never sign up the USCIS website. I always check my case by only receipt number.

I guess I should ready to get REF all time.

Yes that's what I mean. There have been no updates

since the very first message (email/text) was received.

It's frustrating to say the least! I'm just so anxious and wish

I'd get some updates to know what to expect next. ?

Dont reschedule it. Just go monday morning early walk in with the documents they requested. This what i would do and will save you at least 4 weeks by not rescheduling it.

We got the dreaded RFE. It finally arrived today and I am very confused I hope this is something very simple and I am just overthinking it. It's states form I-864 Affidavit was submitted, however page 3 part 4 of the petitioner/sponsor's FORM I-864 list someone else other than the petitioner / sponsor's. Then I also says the same about listing a joint sponsor and their not matching. Well I make 45000 a year with just two of us so I didn't need a co sponsor and second I filled his petition with my new married last name not my maiden name. My question is do I need to re do the I-864 using my maiden name I mean I submitted my marriage license so should that tell them my name has changed. Well please help and also will I need to send the tax transcript again?

It sounds like the same RFE i got. I attached to my post what i got. Please let me know if this is the same wording you got. If yes i can try to tell what i did correct and resent.
