Fiance asked me if it was possible to marry in her country after she is issued the k1 visa so that her parents and family can be there, I told her no. Am I correct? Or are we able to?

The K-1 visa requires her to be single when she enters the US.

If she is married, it would be immigration fraud for her to use the K-1 visa to enter the US.

You can have a party with family and friends, but don't do anything that would be an official marriage ceremony.

Stand up in front of the group and express your love and devotion for each other and then begin the festivities.

if you do decide to do anything that resembles a wedding, even if it is non-legal, it is very much reccommended to NOT bring pictures from it or mention it during the interview process. Quite a few people have been denied a K-1 visa because they couldn't prove that they were still single, and were told to reapply under CR-1. It is generally not advised to have anything that looks like a wedding, and definitely do not refer to yourself or let your family/friends refer to you as married while you wait for your interview.

Hell I was almost denied adjustment of status as the interviewer mistook the photo of us at my father in laws wedding as us getting married before applying for the k1. We had only used it as we both look nice in it and it was a good one as part of our montage of our 12 year relationship. She kept insisting that we were already married and only backed down when I offered to get a copy of the marriage certificate of my father in law to show my husband witnessed it.
