I had my interview at the US consulate in Montreal on Aug 12, 2015 everything went well and I was approved. A month later I received a letter of refusal stating I needed a waiver for overstaying in the past. Long story short I know this was a mistake I didn't need a waiver I went back and forth via email with them for a month and finally they realized it was a mistake and they reversed the decision, two days ago my ceac status change from refused to Ap. And today I received an email to come in at the consulate general in Montreal for bio-aoth at 2 p.m. for november 23rd. They said to just print the email and show the guard bc my passport is still with them. I'm just wondering has this ever happened to anyone? What do I expect will happen at this appointment? Anyone who has gone thru this can you share your experience with me because I am just confused to why would I need to get this done if I was just there less than 3 month ago.

I just got an email from the consulate in Montreal asking me to come in to do a bio-oath next month. I have already been to Montreal twice now at great personal expense. Previously for an interview over a year ago and for a new medical exam just 2 weeks ago. I am having difficulty finding many other people who have gone through this and am confused why they would ask this of me. It doesn't seem routine.

May I ask how it went for you? Did you really only need to take the oath? Did they issue you your visa afterwards? They also currently have my passport so I'm wondering how much longer this whole process is going to take and if this kind of the final step before they issue you a visa? Can you share your experience with me? Thank you!

Some have said that embassy is kind of hard, but everything is on the up & up

on your end stay positive, yep the delays & costs are stressful, but if you do want

the visa you have to jump thru all their hoops, an oath would sound like they will

be giving you, although a mistake was made so they want to cross all Ts. Good luck

To those searching like me for the term bio-oath, I attended the appointment, offered my appointment letter and passport, waited to be called to a window, swore the oath that my forms contained true information, and they took my fingerprints digitally.

After this, the agent went through all my paperwork, threw some trick questions at me, and when satisfied, granted me the visa approval.

I went to the embassy and was directed to wait until an interview window was ready. I gave my digital fingerprints, took the oath, answered some more "interviewy" questions, and was presented with a "Welcome to the United States" letter.

You will not receive your passport back at this time - it will arrive by mail via the courier that you set up previously, along with the "do not open" envelope.

Certainly. This was exactly like the first interview, except more streamlined, less paper shuffle. Questions are basically the same as first set, and yes, they gave me the welcome letter at the end of the interview.

If your papers are in order, there is nothing to worry about.

Hi there, I have a question. Could you tell me your timeline from mailing updated documents such as medical, police report to receive a bio-oath appointment date and visa on hand? I am now ready to mail my updated documents but now i found out i need to go to Montreal for Bio-Oath appointment after that? Thanks!
