I have been approved for the K1 visa.. I have filled out the DS-160 and filled out the schedule appointment profile as far as I can. i payed the visa fee and I went to put in my receipt number from the post office and it would not take it say ''No valid record can be found for the entered receipt number. Please validate that your receipt number is correct and that you have paid the correct amount for the visa which you are applying for. My case expires November 12, 2015 i mean by that that my I797 will expire on 12, 2015. btw I did not receive any letters or instructions from the US embassy.I m afraid it will expire before i get to do anything can anyone help me.do can they extend my I797 valid time or it's over for me

Welcome to the forum.

Perhaps a bit of clarification is in order, your I-129F visa petition has been approved? Correct? You have filled out the DS-160, Nonimmigrant Visa Application, and filled out the schedule appointment profile, for your visa application interview at the embassy/consulate, as far as you can? Correct? Most interviewing embassies/consulates can and do automatically extend validity of approved visa petitions if it expires before visa processing is completed. Verify that will happen with your interviewing embassy/consulate.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

You may be putting in the wrong number they do not want the USCIS case number but the new came number from the NVC in most cases.

I would suggest that you follow the specific instructions of your intended interviewing embassy/consulate. Instructions/requirements can be different between the various US embassy/consulates. You need to provide more specific information, such as which embassy/consulate?...... :time: (as I mentioned to you before).

In my consulate we have to wait for 4 hours, some even say 8 - 24 hours depending on when the payment transaction was made, only after then you can actually set an appointment date.. Try searching for the visa application fee payment processing timelines under your consulate to find out.
